“Perfect location, nice staff, great price”

We had a two bed room with a shared bathroom on the hallway right across from our room. The room was really small, had two single beds, a fan, a sink and a small drawer. At night it was really hot and sticky in the room but with open window and fan on it was okay. The only problem we then had were the moskitos. We were in Venice in early October but the weather was great, so I would definetely bring Autan or something against moskitos if I'd go back there in summer. We had to kill several of them and so did other people before us so there are a few spots of dead moskitos on the walls of the room. Since our room was right next to the breakfast room it got quite noisy in the mornings around 6-7 a.m. when they started to set up the breakfast. All in all the room was okay: clean but small and warm.
The breakfast was a typical italian breakfast: great coffee, some small rolls and sweet baked goods with jam, honey or chocolate cream. There were also cornflakes with milk and orange juice.
The hotel was literally 3 minutes by foot from the St. Mark's Square and you don't have to cross one channel on this way so if you have a big suitcase it's no problem to get there. Around the hotel there are several nice restaurants and one small place to get pizza slices that are really good and cheap. From the hotel you get to all the nice areas in town really fast by foot.
The staff in the hotel was really nice. You can get a hair dryer at the front desk and you can leave your luggage there if your flight comes earlier than the check-in time or leaves later than the check-out time. There is somebody at the front desk 24-h.
The hotel is not very easy to find but if you follow the directions on their website you should be fine.
So all in all it was fairly clean, the staff was nice, the breakfast was good for italian breakfast and the room was small but okay. If you don't expect to much and plan on saving money on the hotel but still be in the city centre you should stay here!

“Not that bad!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

My husband and I were travelling round Europe last month and were dreading staying here after all the reviews but I can honestly say it is NOT that bad!!! It was tricky to find though. The reception desk were very friendly and helpful when asked for advice about restaurants. We had paid that little bit extra to get one of the rooms that had their own private bathroom and the room was perfectly suitable for the price and location of it! The one thing I would say about the room though was it was extremely hot due to the pipes that seemed to be running underneath the floor apart from that it was absolutely fine. The thing that let Venice down was Venice itself - bit boring - therefore we left this city early!!!

Room Tip: Pay that little bit extra for a room with its own private bathroom. When you go out of the hotel an...

“great location, horrible stay.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

The location is superb in the heart of venice, that's it. This place is like a mosquito heaven, hot and humid. The room is extremely old and dirty, only shared-bathroom with ppl on your floor. I would not trust the lock on the room door, which is a plastic knob!! The breakfast is all package food. I took the milk from the glass jar to drink and realized that the it was a warm milk, ewwww. Well, you get what you've paid for. horrible place in a great location!

“Terrible hostel, dirty beds and uncomfortable”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

They say they are a hotel, but on the walls they have a certificate for a ´albergue´ (a hostel). Its hard to find the entrance and there is no elevator. The staff seemed bored and not very helpful. When we accedently removed some sheets we saw that the matrass and sheets were full of pee-stains and went to complain about it. The room was small and very hot, with only a van. The water comes out hot, you have to keep the water running for 10min to make it colder. You share a bathroom with the whole floor, wich wasn´t very clean. The area is noisy and when you open the windows you will go home full of mosquito bites. This is not even worth 1 star.

Room Tip: Get a room with a bathroom and airconditioning, you won´t regret it!

“HOT and LOUD”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

I would not recommend staying here. There is no air conditioning. We stayed here in the middle of May when the temp was about 60 in the evening and we still were hot. We couldn't keep the windows open because it was like mosquito heaven. Outside our window across the way was a restaurant which clanged dishes all night long. The location was excellent.
