Not cheap either. But then, as it turns out, nothing is in Venice. Or Italy for that matter.
It's been some 20 years since I was last in Venice so it took me a while circling the parking lot/bus station at the end of the causeway to remember that actually there are no roads as such in Venice and I had probably best ignore the lady on the SatNav who insistent that I drive cross the pedestrian bridge and off down the canalside.
There are however huge multi-story carparks right there so you can abandon your car for 30 Euros or whatever a day and drag your cases across to the island pausing only to laugh at those folk who have showed up with enough luggage for a round-the-world cruise and are trying to transport it in relays the entire length of the island.
The hotel itself is easy to find being only 100 metres or so from the station. Which is how we got there 20 years ago hence no clue about driving or parking arrangements.
The breakfasts were very, very basic. Tea or coffee and a few bits of dried cracker things and croissants. You're going to be paying for lunch. Not enough there to tide you over until dinner. Also the breakfast room is tiny and so sometimes there would be folk waiting on you to finish so they could get their food.
I'm loathe to diss the place too much because I fear that Venice exists in a parallel universe where normal pricing policy has simply gone out the window but if I were to return to Venice I'd probably take a chance on a different hotel.
