“A beautiful experience!”

This hotel is perfect if you want to spend a lovely holyday near Venice, one of the most romantic place I have ever seen. Let's see why: the Lido island is so wonderful, and the place around the hotel is very quiet. (I do not recommend to Ibiza lovers:) Behind the hotel it is a charming garden; you may have the breakfast there, or in front of the hotel, where you'll find a very nice place with stylish chairs, tables and flowers. In fact, everythig in this hotel is very stilysh. If you are a lucky person, or you pay it, you may have a room with a marvellous view with the lagoon. The breakfast is ok, 3-4 days, after that might be boring .The room isn' t small, isn't too large, but is nice decorated. The bathroom is very large and comfortable. What's wrong? Almost nothing, only...some of front desk staff is a little bit unfriendly. I recommend this hotel everybody who wants to have a quiet holyday in a crowded Venice.

“Excellent location away from the crowds”

This hotel is located away from the main area of Venice and is only accessible by boat, however in Venice, boats are the way to travel so it is not a problem, unless as was the case for me, there was a public transport strike. The hotel is right on the waters edge on one side and the beach is located a short diastase away. The rooms are well presented and clean and the breakfast is very good. Staff spoke English. There is a direct boat to the airport as well, so it's a great way to travel when leaving. .

“Much better down the road”

We stayed here one night and down the road at the Best Western the second night.
We got a way bigger room, and a better breakfast for $50.00e cheaper.

“Nice hotel that is the right price but off the beaten path”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

First off, this is a nice clean hotel on the island of Lido. It has a 24 hours staff that seems competent if not exactly friendly. The rooms were clean & large by European standards with a modern bathroom. The breakfast was good & plentiful but typical of what I had in Italy. Cold meats, croissants, yogurt, pastries etc... with very good coffee. The internet is not free, I believe its about 6 euro/hr or 22 euro/day. Thats about the same price as the internet shops in Venice but I think it's free & unlimited in some of the other hotels. You will need to take a waterbus from the train or bus station which is easier than it sounds. Just take one heading to Lido. Its usually the last stop. Its a very good idea to get the 24/48 or 72 hour pass, as you'll have to use the ferry every time you want to go to Venice proper. The waterbus ticket is also good for the bus on Lido island. Once in Lido, It's over a kilometer to and from the hotel, but a nice 20 minute walk down the promenade if your up for it. Just make a left as you leave the waterbus stop & walk along the water. If you're not up for the walk catch the bus to and from the hotel. The bus stops next to the hotel. I can't remember the bus numbers but they will be the ones across the street from the waterbuses pointing towards the left. You know when you've arrived when the bus goes around the roundabout to turn around. It sounds like a lot, but not as bad as it seems. Lido is also a nice little area with a small beach and some nice restaurants. Overall a pretty good experience.

“Good choice - don't let the remote location put you off”

You’ve undoubtedly noticed that this hotel isn’t in Venice proper – it’s out on the Lido. In fact, it’s in a fairly remote part of the Lido, a fair way from the waterbus stop. Is this a problem? I didn’t think so. It’s still easy to get here from the airport, possibly easier than to most Venice hotels. Getting into the centre of Venice in the morning involved a short bus ride (bus stop is right in front of the hotel) followed by a scenic waterbus voyage, and the reverse in the evening (as late as you like – they never seem to stop). Buy an unlimited travel pass (definitely recommended, wherever you stay in Venice), and the trip costs nothing extra. An alternative to the bus is a walk down the Lido promenade – very pleasant, with great views of Venice and the lagoon. A thought that crossed my mind: does it take any longer to get to St Mark’s Square from this hotel than it would from an off-centre hotel in Venice? Probably not much in it.

You get a lot in return for the remoteness. It’s lots cheaper than an equivalent hotel in Venice itself. It’s a nice hotel, with its own gardens. My room had a good bed, was nicely furnished, and had a balcony with a view over the Lagoon towards Venice. Everything seemed new or recently refurbished. Breakfast can be taken on a sunny terrace if weather permits, from where you can observe ocean liners gliding past. Everything has a more open, spacious feel than the centre of Venice, a relaxed place to start your busy day, a tranquil haven to return to at night.

The Lido itself is nothing special. It has a few interesting quirks, but soon pales before what’s just across the water. It does have some serviceable eating and drinking places though.

Room Tip: Front rooms have great view. The whole hotel is in a quiet location, I don't foresee any noise p...
