“It turned out to be perfect for us”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

We needed a hotel to stay at for 1 night before going on a cruise. This was a short notice and after a couple of days investigation found Hotel Falier. This hotel matched what we were looking for, close to the Piazzle Roma for easy access from the airport and easy access to the cruise ships, within walking distance of the sites, good reviews and fairly cheap for Venice.

It turned out to be perfect for us.
- It was pricey for what it was compared to hotels around the rest of the world but for Venice it was cheap.
-It was a five minute walk from Piazzle Roma and easy to pull your luggage with wheels on all the way. The only tricky bit was the couple of bridges you had to get your luggage up and down.
- The rooms were small, but clean
- There was free wi fi
- A good continental breakfast with lots of choice
- the staff were friendly, polite, and helpful

I would recommend anyone one to stay at the Hotel Falier as long as practical was more important than luxury

“Best 21st Birthday Present”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We got a room on the top floor, our own veranda and beautifially decorated, wooden beams and nice breakfast. The location was central and I would return to this hotel as it was a great price.

Room Tip: Request top floor with you own Balcony to get a good view of Venice

“Ordinary, but OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

After all, this is Venice and a hotel room does not come for free. Stayed 1 night and for that length the hotel was OK. The room was small and a bit smelly (of damp/mould). Chose hotel due to proximity to car parking facilities. + for breakfast incl. and free use of Wifi. Friendly staff.

“Was above our expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights last week and had a good sized room and bathroom on the second floor at the far end of the corridor. Looking at the fire escape plan, our bedroom looked the largest on the floor but the others looked a good enough size for sleeping and our belongings as most of our time was spent sightseeing etc. The room was very nice and clean and our bathroom had views over the gardens to the left of the hotel. We were very happy with the service received from the different receptionists as well as the other staff who were helpful when required. The location of the hotel is great as it is not directly on the Grand Canal which can be noisy and it is only a few minutes walk from the Bus station where we were dropped off by the airport bus. There are also many restaurants near by and all the attractions within Venice are easy to walk to. We would definitely stay here again and recommend booking directly with the hotel as a cheaper rate will be given compared to other accommodation websites.

“Does the job, just could do better for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

We stayed for 4 nights from a saturday to Wednesday. We knew from reviews the rooms would be small - our tiny bathroom had a shower over the toilet with a curtain to isolate a tiny space for showering and I'm quite slim. On second day we had been eating breakfast for 5 or so minutes when the power went off. The waiter didn't seem surprised and opened the curtains to let the light in. So far we hadn't been approached for hot drinks and it was the first opportunity we had to ask - he said there was no power so couldn't make hot drinks then shrugged. He said the power was off from 9pm to 12 noon, as if it was a planned shutdown. The attitude and lack of dedication to serving hot drinks to those who appeared for breakfast meant that we went without one - he had 5 minutes to offer and serve us one if he knew it was going off. Additionally i was unable to dry my hair when we got back to the room - a good way for a hotel to save on the power bill! No apologies or compensation was made at reception.
Otherwise the hotel served its function, was tidy and clean. However within a minutes walk there are places that are smarter or simply more modern (e.g. separate shower).
