“Perfect for a romantic stay!”

We have just returned from a lovely 3 day break at Hotel Torino, Venice.
After booking the hotel and reading the reviews on here I was actually dreading the holiday! When we arrived at the hotel we was greated by the hotel receptionist who was extremley polite and helpfull. He confirmed that we would be staying in the annex (which I then quickly requested to be moved to the main hotel after reading most reviews on here!)
The receptionist said that this was ok to do but would be an extra 20euros per night. We agreed to look at the room in the annex and decide from there.
When we entered the room we was very surprised. The room was extremley clean and very cosy. Some may say it was small but we didn't find it much of a problem. Therefore we decided to stay in the annex.
The location of the hotel is perfect! We were amazed at how centrally located it was to St Marks Square, lovely restaurants and amazing shops!!
The nightlife in Venice isn't extactly jumping and the bars do close around midnight. We found a lovely bar called H&K which is just around the corner from St Marks Square. The prices were reasonable and the staff were extremley nice.
If you do have the pleasure in visting Venice in the not so distant future then you can't beat the Hotel Torino for location and price. I would definately return!

“Not worth it - look else where.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

Room booked very well in advance. Received small, dirty carpeted room suited for one person billed as a double. Lots of stairs, and slow elevator for 2 pers max. Mediocre and crowded breakfast. Cold bordering on rude service.

“Wonderful stay in this lovely, traditional Venetian hotel!”

We stayed in two rooms at Hotel Torino - a smaller room in what they call the Annexe (just a
quick walk around the corner from the main hotel entrance). The room was very clean and included a king size canopy bed, tv, fridge, desk and a very good air conditioner - it was extremely hot while we were there but our room was always very cool and comfortable. When we moved rooms to the main hotel half way through our stay, the staff arranged to have all of our luggage moved for us which was appreciated. Our second room in the main hotel was called the blue room - wow! It had been newly renovated, the room was huge and included a cupboard, desk, two sitting chairs and a very comfy arm chair. The bathroom looked brand new and all very clean. Roberto on the front desk was fantastic and very helpful. Wifi was also included. There was a good selection for breakfast and was available until 10.30am. We'd definitely recommend and will be staying there again!

“I had reservation at Torino Hotel, but I stayed at anex: dirty, awful!”

I bought a double room with breakfast at the Hotel Torino, but when I arrived at the hotel I was told to stay in the annex another building of inferior quality which is close to the hotel.
The hotel employee said the problem always with the customers who bought from DECOLAR and that the hotel could not do anything since the error was not theirs.
DECOLAR site there is no clarification or information note about this difference, that there are two buildings for the same hotel with different prices and quality. Site from TORINO hotel has no explanation either. The address from reservation is Torino "official" hotel and not the other buiding "annex".
Be aware about this.

“nice place with small rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

Hotel shows signs of wear and the rooms could use a freshening up. Staff is quite helpful with suggestions, and made calls for me to help with our car rental arrangements. Good location being close to Piazza San Marco and the Grand Canal, but no views from the rooms.
