Provided the perfect base for a long weekend away. Travelling as a group (13 of us in total) meant that we needed somewhere which was central enough to suit the needs of everyone... the San Cassiano didn't disappoint.

Positives:
- Great Location.
- Calm, relaxed atmosphere.
- Excellent service from the staff - particularly in the bar.
- Fairly large rooms which are clean and comfortable.
- Lovely views of the Grand Canal.

Negatives:
- Breakfast. Everything comes out of a machine, including the orange juice and yoghurt. Bacon, eggs and sausages are provided but I wouldn't recommend.
- Steep stairs, especially if you're on the 3rd floor. This didn't affect me as I'm young and fighting fit... but if you're of an older or unhealthy generation they're likely to kill you off.

Overall, well worth a visit.

On arriving here we were treated well given a canal room free of charge because we were on our honeymoon, the room traditional Venetian style with a lovely chandelier. Breakfast was well looked after and always topped up and a vast choice as well. Only a few mins walk from Rialto and there is always some thing around to see.

Overall a great experience and I look forward to coming here again and telling all my friends and family about it.

Four of us booked a 4 day trip during the slow season which turned out to be perfect! The hotel was great value for the money, convenient-but slightly off the beaten path. The view and food at breakfast couldn't be beat and the front desk clerks were always willing to help us out and answer questions. We felt safe and comfortable and really enjoyed our time at Ca Favretto!

Loved the location close to the Pescheria (fish market) and the S. Stae vaporetti stop. Bathroom was updated and great feature to have the heater which kept towels warm.

Downside is I had a single room and the bed was a tad old, it had a sunken part from being well used.

Directions - The church will be infront of you as you exit the vaporetti. You will see a metal bridge, Ponte Giovaneill on your left, cross the bridge and go right. Take your next left and cross another bridge. Go right, it will be your only choice. At next crossstreet take a left and go over another bridge. Go straight and you will cross a street Calle Regina Corner, the hotel is the next left. If you forgot the directions there is a trash can just before the bridge that has a map of how to get to the hotel. Very clever idea I thought.
