“Excellent Location - real find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

My fiance and I stayed here in late October of 2011 and we are so happy we did! The location is walking distance from the train which is super convenient. It was easy to find and very private and safe. The room we stayed in had a real regal feel to it and I have to say it had a beautiful view and was quiet at night. We both agree we WILL return here our next time in Venice. Michele was the most gracious host and very helpful. When we left we checked out and were able to leave our bags there as we walked around a bit more. I love Venice and I love Residence Palazzo Odoni. Highly recommend you stay here.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the front door. When we opend the windows and the sun shined it was heaven.

“A little gem in a wonderful city.”

We had an apartment for four overlooking the canal consisting of a main bedroom and a living/ kitchen/dining/second bedroom. The bathroom was a good size with a shower over a whirlpool bath plus toilet, bidet and handbasin. We chose this place for a few reasons, very close to the Piazzale Roma bus station, two or three minutes walk, also convenient for the People Mover, Vaporetta Station and Cruise Terminal for future visits, and last but not least, it's obvious old Venetian ambience. The rooms were serviced daily to an excellent standard and mien host Michele was extremely amiable and receptive from arrival to departure.........Wilba

“Venice with old Style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We stayed for the Carnevale. The room was booked with 6 months advance, and we got a very large front room, at the second floor. Very spacious, with a large vaulted bedroom, a living room, kitchen and a bathroom with a jacuzzi.
The view to the canal was gorgeous.
This is a *very* old construction, with a lot of stairs. Be prepared to carry your luggage yourself, over steep stairs, there is no elevators.
The breakfast must be reserved in advance, and is not included in the standard room reservation. We found out that there was no breakfast for us, even if we want to pay.
The whole experience was magical, and the hotel has the luxury and mystery of old Venice, especially when you get home late at night, and use the large old door keys to open the large medieval doors.
It is located far from the Piazza San Marco, but the Fondamenta is quiet, and if you want to walk through the old Venice streets, it is very worth staying.
We will come back again.

“Great city, great place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed in Italy for a total of three weeks, in five hotels. Residence Palazzo Odoni was the best. The magical city of Venice as a backdrop helps. Like the most recent reviewer commented, the walk to the Hotel was a challenge, especially with four children and heavily loaded. The main bridge being the biggest hurdle to carry six 20kg plus bags and additional hand luggage. Anyway, we managed to get ‘paid’ help both there and back. The ‘trinket’ sellers on the bridge assisted with the bags and a few Euro’s tip later, we were on our way. The water taxi was an option but overpriced and in the end unnecessary. More stairs to navigate once at the hotel, however Michele was there to help us with the bags. We stayed for four nights in two apartments (Tiziano and Caravaggio) on the last night Caravaggio was unavailable so we moved the kids to Canaletto. All apartments are excellent, very spacious with a kitchenette. The layout in each, quite different. Furnishings nice with modern bathrooms. We loved the area. Very quite with lots of restaurants and shops. We ate a number of the nearby restaurants and eateries. All were good with their own character. It was also nice to grab some supplies from the supermarket or food purveyors and have drinks and snacks in the room after a long day walking, experiencing Venice. We prepared breakfast in the room most mornings, however due to lack of supplies we had breakfast in the restaurant next door on one morning for 5 Euro’s each – very basic but fresh. I have no hesitation recommending the Apartments as a great place to stay in Venice. Whether a family or couple the residence is in a good location, very spacious, offers flexibility for meals, great service and its own special character.

“Venice a charming city with warm greetings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We were met by Michel personally and he was most accommodating and helped us with our bags up all the stairs to our room. Now firstly this hotel is not on the main canal but on a smaller connecting one. If you have alot of bags you are going to feel the walk to the hotel. There is no way to avoid stairs as soon as you get off train. You need to get over main bridge across main canal ...all stairs and than you need to hop over smaller canals on the way to the hotel. A water taxi is expensive but i would've done it to avoid the complaining from my wife & kids. Anyway the hotel is charming and loved the bathroom , but make sure you pick the ones on one level not a split level...we were away from our kids and my wife was worried about the kids climbing the steep stairs at night. There is no meals here so enjoy walking around the canals and trying different food. Make sure you pay for a gondolar ride..about 100 euro for 40 mins but sure worth it when you hear about the history and see all this facinating water city has to offer.
