We arrived from the airport by coach and the hotel was an easy 2 minute walk from the bus station. From the outside the hotel looks very drab and in need of a little updating, the reception area is also a bit of a mis-match area with a bit of a strange smell, but dont be put off by this because the rooms far outway both of these, we had a selection of 7 rooms between our group, all were stunning. Fabric on the walls, chandeliers and ornate furniture. We all had flat screen satelite tv's and a very reasonable and well stocked mini bar. The bathrooms probably need updating but they were very clean and adequate with hair dryers and toiletries provided. Breakfast as said in other reviews is basic but adequate, fresh croissants, bread, toast, ham, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, biscuits, tea, coffee and juice. A boiled egg would have been nice.
The location of this hotel could not be better, right by the train station and bus station, all the tourist areas are within easy walking distance and we did not use any water buses and did all our exploring on foot, half the fun is getting lost, but it is quite easy to find your way around and we covered all areas. The hotel organised a private water taxi to take us to Murano for free to look round a glass factory, we saw a very interesting demonstration. We did buy a few things but you were'nt made to feel like you had to. We then got the Vaporhetti back which cost 6.50 euro, its well worth the trip if you have a few hours to spare.
All in all I cannot recomend this hotel enough when you consider the price we paid. Venice is a fantastic place and I cannot wait to visit again.
