I stayed here at Hotel Bloom at the end of August 2011 with my partner. I booked the trip as a romantic getaway and we were not disappointed.

I will say that finding the hotel was a little difficult once we were off the vaporetto, but after asking in a cafe we were directed straight there. The difficult is not finding Bloom itself (although the entrance is little more than a door) it was finding the hotel where we needed to check in, which as it turns out is right around the back of Bloom. This was not a big deal, it is more of an FYI.

Th hotel itself is beautiful, full of rich colours and materials. We had the Yellow room, which was a decent size, for venice. It was well furnished and romantic just as I had hoped. There are plenty of stairs so be warned.

The roof top reading room and terrace are great, and as many people have said, the free prosecco is a great touch. It has a view over the square and both tables and loungers. It was so nice infact, this is where I proposed to my partner.

Breakfast was continental in style, but there was plenty to eat including bread, preserves, pate, pastries etc. Coffee is freshly made.

So if you are looking for a great little/traditional B and B style hotel in vencie, at a sensible price, this is well worth considering.

Bloom B&B is a keeper! We visited Venice before but this place offers better services, rooms, design, and comfort. The price is also much cheaper than most places, esp. when compare with what you get. Breakfast was wonderful - a lot of variety, good quality, arranged in a super cute way. Generally, everything is well thought. The rooftop patio was wonderful (Tip: Bring your favorite bottle of wine and enjoy the view from there). There is also a very good 'osteria' (restaurant where you can also just get some drinks & typical Venetian seafood snack) very close to the hotel (turn right after exiting the hotel, then enter the first small street on the right - it is on the right/opposite a full sit-down restaurant). Overall, I strongly recommend this place, whether for couple or family (even solo! If you enjoy comfort and design). We will definitely stay here again for our next trip.

Absolutely loved our experience at this hotel. Rooftop patio was fabulous as mentioned. Room was clean and comfortable, bathroom was spacious by European standards, and we appreciated the unique character of the hotel. There are stairs -- but you are in Venice where you are doing a lot of walking and have to get creative with luggage transport anyway! We got engaged our last night in Venice and my family will always have memories of my husband meeting them at breakfast at the hotel to give them the news that he proposed the night before! Would definitely stay here again!

Pay attention to the instructions on how to find this hotel - it takes a bit of finding but it's worth the effort. It's such a little gem of a place. Once you get your bearings, you'll find it's in a very handy location.

There are a number of stairs (no lift) so be prepared. The rooms are beautifully decorated, but compact. The bathroom was huge and the toiletries supplied were really nice.

Breakfast was excellent with a selection of cereals, meats, cheese, pastries etc.

The owner was very helpful with wi-fi problems, suggesting restaurants, helping with directions and making bookings. Our friends unfortunately did have problems with mosquitoes in their rooms and although staff sprayed the room, it was a problem. Obviously this would only be a seasonal problem, but could be a real problem for some.

However the highlight for us was the rooftop terrace. At the end of a great day sight-seeing, what better way to unwind that with a glass of prosecco, very kindly provided by the hotel free of charge, up on the roof top terrace , watching the sunset over the roof tops!
