Everything about this hotel was perfect (except the rain head shower made the bathroom floor wet) The room was large, the beds comfortable, the bathroom fabulously done.

It was exquisitely clean and the staff was always helpful and friendly.

It is close to St Marks square and certainly in the upscale section of Venice.
The charge for the wi-fi was surprising but fair (high bandwidth connection).

The directions to the hotel seem odd but fit exactly and it is perhaps a 3 minute walk from the San Marcos-San Zaccaria stop on the 1 or 2 vaporeto stop with no bridges to climb over with your luggage.

I think that the two negative reviews on this hotel may be in error- there are at least one other hotel in Venice with Principi as part of the name and the details cited don't match with this hotel.(no bathtubs and no adjoining apartments)

I would certainly return to this hotel on any trip to Venice.

Room apparently had water damage, so arrived early evening to no room (it happens I guess). They offered to put us up in their recently renovated apartment, but when the bell man walked me over to the empty buildings, the hallway was filled with construction (tubs, and other stuff) materials. There was no services including no WiFi, the guy actually thought it was a plus that a kitchen was included. We were supposed to walk over to the hotel for the breakfast. I'm in Venice for 2 nights and paying nearly $400/night, you think I'm going to find a grocery?? A second offer was made for the hotel next door, and they would move us the second night. I called Expedia and they moved us within the hour.

super nice hotel, great location, 5 minute walk to St. Marks Square and Water taxi stop to airport. Beautiful interior, decor and design. Delicious breakfast in the morning!!!
Definately recommend, 4 star hotel, but rate it 5 stars!

Recently stayed in family suite. Nice,clean,large room facing the gondola riddled canals-beautiful. Only complaints are-
1.The cheap and nasty breakfast not befitting of a hotel of this standard-"juice" which has 0%fruit,old industrial bread etc
2.Having to pay for wifi. This hotel was 3 times more expensive than anywhere else we stayed in Italy yet remained the only place which demanded a fee for wifi
