My husband and I and two daughters stayed in the apartment Dimora Canaletto for 5 nights in August 2010. We loved the location and loved our first Venice experience.
Francesco met us at the bus station and walked us to the apartment. Our first walk from the bus station was windy through narrow walkways which at first was very intimidating. But we loved the location because it was a lovely quiet area with many great restaurants close by. And lots of Italian families with children playing in the square. We spent quite a bit of time on the little balcony watching the canal activity which we found so interesting. The only thing is the living room furniture is quite worn and probably needs replacing.

Great apartment, fantastic service by Alfonso and a great experience in Venice. We took two teenagers and were so pleased with our choice of staying here out of the madness of San Marco and in the area of S Croce where it was peaceful but easily accessible to all the attractions.

Our stay in Venice was very comfortable in the apartment we rented, we found the apartment on VRBO a very useful website for travellers. The property owner makes arrangements for you to be escorted to your apartment, this is a wonderful service and makes getting to your accomdation effortless. The young lady who met us was very helpful in helping us get settled and gave us good directions to a square close by with supermarket and restaurants. The apartment is very comfortable for 4 people, nice kitchen with a washer, beautiful little terrace overlooking a canal the apartment is clean and well cared for. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and easy walking distance from any of the main tourist areas. Plan on getting lost in Venice, it is the only way to truly experience it. Buy a map and enjoy the adventure.
One tip I would give is to negotiate the "cover" charge at most restaurants in the evening, it seems to be customary to charge 1.50 to 2.00 euro per person.....

We stayed in Ca'Tiepolo recently during our visit to Venice. We made a quick phone call to Alfonso as we arrived at the train station and he arranged for someone to meet us 5 minutes later. Within 15 minutes, we were settled into the apartment! What a wonderful place to stay. Off the beaten tourist track in quiet Venice suburbia it is possible to feel like a local. Just around the corner every afternoon, mums sit and have a glass of wine while their children play in the square. However, within a few minutes, you can also be visiting the incredible sights of this amazing city.

The apartment is spacious, secure and comfortable (although no internet to our teenagers' horror). The dining room looks out over a quiet canal and it is so relaxing to sit and watch the gondolas pass by. We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and will definitely return next time we visit beautiful Venice.
