“Budget Venice B&B with friendy host”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2010

Lovely friendly dog and owner!! Andrea and Whiskey the dog are the most welcoming and the hotel is brilliant value for money. We arrived to Treviso at just after 8pm and caught the last no.9 bus. A bit tricky to find but once you realise where you are it is just as easy to walk into Treviso which is 10 mins. Coffee on tap whenever you want with an extremely large lounge to sit and read the tons of books it has to offer. Breakfast between 7-11am has plenty buffet choice, more than most in my experience in Italy. I would highly recommended and would definately use again. Loved the laid back approach from the owner who gave you loads of advice on trips and restaurants but then let you just get on with it. If I had to complain about anything I feel he could smarten up the front with a bit of weeding! If you are using this to travel to Venice only half an hour on train at 4.70 euros single. Top tip which a lot of people don't realise is if you are staying for a few days and love the beach there is a rather large one if you get on the waterbus in Venice, 16 Euros for a 12hr pass ( you can get a 1hr pass) and travel to lido you can combine city break with a little bit of beach perfect if you are looking for a bit of compromise!

“Above and beyond all expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2010 via mobile

My husband and I spent a long weekend at villa Angelina as part of our honey moon. We could not have been happier with every aspect of the villa. The food was outstanding, the owners and staff bent over backwards for all of our needs even arranging transportation to the train and a hospital when I had an ear infection, and the view from our hill top room was breath taking. We felt totally safe on the property. Our room was of above average size (especially for Europe!), very clean, and had good air conditioning. We found the breakfast bar to have more food choices than any other place we stayed in Italy. They just don't do breakfast like in the states. We had no complaints and will certainly stay there again on our next trip!!

“no problem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2008

stayed for 2 nights. A perfick place for a quick visit. 5 minutes from Treviso aeroport 15 Euros taxi. 850 m to train station. Trains every 30 minutes to Venice.
Villa is not a posh place but you will revieve a warm welcome from owner who will give you a local map and advice and then let you get on with it.
The place is yours large sitting room and help yourself kitchen. take back a pizza if you want.
Some comments complain about the help yourself breakfast but it was ok and you can take your time. It reminded me of youth hostels a great place to meet and chat.
Very good value for what you get. I would stay there again.

“A Good Alternative to Venice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2007

We stayed at this B&B primarily because of a late evening arrival into the Treviso airport on Ryanair, and we are glad we did. Our purpose was to see Venice but the option of using Treviso as a base turned out to be a bonus, both because of the B&B itself and because of the city of Treviso, which provided a glimpse of a more typical Italian town and its people than did Venice.

The B&B itself was pretty much as advertised-50 Euros/night for a clean, nicely furnished double room (shared bath) including breakfast. The owner/manager was very helpful in providing directions, restaurant recommendations etc. The only thing preventing an "excellent" rating was the "do it yourself" breakfast, which while certainly adequate and plentiful was a bit uninspired in terms of what was available. The B&B was quite convenient, being a short 5 minute walk to several restaurants, two of which we sampled and found to be of good quality and value, and about a 15 minute walk to the train station, where for 2.20 Euros you could catch frequent trains travelling the half hour journey into Venice proper.

What we really liked was that staying outside Venice allowed us to somewhat avoid the bustle of a major tourist centre at its busiest time, thus allowing us to eat at more "authentic" Italian restaurants, and wander around a city (that had numerous monuments and attractions to visit) where the natives outnumbered the tourists by a wide margin. If you stay here and have a night in Treviso, try "Don Fernandos" for a reasonably priced good quality restaurant where the owner treats you as an honoured guest rather than a customer.

We recommend Treviso and the Villa Angelina to anyone looking to visit Venice on a budget.
