My husband and I were looking for a good hotel with character in the centre of Padua for a weekend away (we were supporting our local rugby team at an away game). This was exactly what we wanted. We arrived by taxi from the airport so finding the hotel was not a problem, though I noticed there were signposts to it all around town. The location in the quaint cobbled streets of the old Jewish quarter is superb for good restaurants and bars with local character, walking around the city, and for the shopping centre. We had a junior suite on the second floor overlooking the noisy bar mentioned in other reports but after a good dinner and a bottle of red wine I must confess the noise did not bother me at all. It all added to the atmosphere of the place. The room was clean, comfortable, had a big bed and a big bathroom though - as is often the case in continental hotels - the bath was not big enough for two! My only quibble was that it had a really useless hairdryer.
The reception staff spoke fluent English and were very helpful - one lady rang the rugby stadium to get tickets for us as neither of us speaks Italian.
Breakfast was perfectly satisfactory - really good coffee, fruit, yoghurt, ham, cheese, fresh bread and delicious croissants. Everything I would want to eat. I would definitely stay here again.
