“Big Name but no Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We stayed in Best Western Biri Padova Italy for two nights thinking that we will get 4 star service by paying over 90 Euro per night but we are very disappointed by the hotel service, Room was too small with very small window even there was no basic things available in the room No Air conditioning not working, Fire Alarm broken, light bulbs blown We made number of requests to rectify the problems but no one was bother to attend.
One small TV with only CNN and BBC world news channels nothing else bath room was ok but not very great I believe you can get more good service in 2 stars hotels.
No Room Service at all, even restaurant close on Sunday but when its open there is nothing apart from Pizza to eat and no tea or coffee available any time and breakfast is very poor nothing much to choose there was only couple of small cakes to eat and no fresh coffee or tea in the restaurant you have to use dispenser machine to get coffee.
I will not recommend this hotel for to stay

Room Tip: Never go to this hotel

Dear Guest,
first of all I want to thank you to share your experience at the BEST WESTERN Hotel Biri.
I am deeply concerned that your experience did not meet your expectation and I apologise.
Some of our standard rooms especially if requested at the back side for a quiet sleep are smaller than the other. To assure a good temperature in the room the air conditioning is adjustable individually and our policy required a perfect maintenance of the fire allarm. Probably during your stay you noticed works were being taking in changing cables, to a better saftey insurance. The ldc tv is 26 screen and provides 11 SKY channels in English other 50 to be choosen in your language plus the PAY TV. Sometime our tv system with over 100 channnels can be hard to manage but the front staff crew is always happy to resolve any matter.
Our panoramic restaurant is unfortunately closed on Sunday. We do not serve Pizza at all since 10 years but just Italian cuisine, our clients love tasting it during their stay, Room service is available till 10.30 pm. Fresh Coffe&sandwiches are also available every day till midnight in our bar downstairs and in the morning our bartender on the 7° floor is glad to prepare coffee , cappuccino or other hot drinks instead using the fast machine.
Guest satisfaction is the goal, for this we look forward to a future opportunity to better serve your lodging needs.
Sincerely Emanuele Lando

“just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

If you are in Padova for a business purpose and you have a car than it's a good location to stay. It's just few minutes to highway where you can go easily to venice, vicenza or other closer cities. The hotel in general just ok but the room that I stayed didn't much to the hotel pictures. It wasn't renovated.Cleanliness and the comfort just ok.

“excellent would recommend when unable to get hotel in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

staff were extremely friendly and helpful, ie; we didn't arrive at the hotel until 11:30pm however, staff were very willing to prepare us a sandwich and a drink although the restaurant had been closed for the evening.
Room was very comfortable and clean, and although our room was at the front of the hotel and close to main road, it was relatively quiet as there were electric shutters on the windows which helped to eliminate the noise.
Although the hotel was some distance from Venice it was relatively easy to catch either the train or bus into Venice, you also have the benefit of being able to visit Padua which is a lovely historic town with the oldest Botanic gardens which is worth a visit.

“Not to be recommended”

We spent three nights at the Biri and it would be true to say it could have spoilt our time in Padova had we let it. First it gives the impression of being in a good location. It is not. Our observations and experience indicate it is in an area rife with beggars and prostitutes, and, we were informed by local residents, an area known for drug dealing. It is up to an hours walk from anywhere of interest - something not to be undertaken lightly in the temperatures we experienced. There is a bus service close by which runs every fifteen minutes or so. This is always standing room only from the stop close to the hotel, when it arrives. The service also ceased at around 9 pm meaning taxis had to be used after this time. This had the benefit of dropping us at the door rather than walking in the locality after dark.
With regard to the hotel itself some aspects of its own publicity are correct. There is a view from the terrace - it is of cranes on distant building sights. The rooms are fine but the photos show a room with wicker chairs and a table. We had neither wicker chairs nor a table, instead we had cheap plastic ones. As has been mentioned by another reviewer the reception staff were not helpful or welcoming they were simply supercilious. Those we spoke to had, it seems, little local knowledge and could only tell us no more than where the bus stop was. When we had a problem with the restaurant being taken over for a group booking, thus denying residents access to the restaurant, they were not at all helpful and were happy to see us go back into town to find somewhere to eat.
In one respect we found a positive in that the staff who serviced the breakfast room were energetic, enthusiastic and cheerful. Breakfast itself was ok.

“Good business hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2011

The hotel is somewhat out of the centre. It's a 40 minute walk to the city centre and the neighbourhood isn't that okay. I wouldn't stroll there at night. However taxi's are reletively cheap in Padova and the hotel is good. Nice, well-kept rooms and rather spacey.Nice little balcony. Bonus is SKY-tv in your room, which allows you to view 500+ international TV channels. Breakfast is okay and the restaurant has good reviews from local businessman. This hotel is a good option for businesspeople and visitors who want to be near Venice. It's only 25 minutes with the train to Venice.

Dear Guest,
I would like to thank you for taking time to share with us your expericence at our hotel.
About the distance to the city center, a bus runs frequently from the hotel to it and the stop is just 100mt from us. I look forward to welcoming you in the future.
