There's nothing worse than getting off the slopes and spending half an hour getting to your accomodation.. we stayed in the annex appartment part of the hotel and it's absolutely brilliant. The appartments are just by the telepherique (cable car) entrance/exit, with the ski hire shop just opposite. Close by are the restaurants and shops in the small town centre, making everything accessible. The staff were great, helpful with questions about the rooms and guiding us to the parking when we got there (10 Euros and just by the entrance). For location and ease, it was just what we wanted!

The hotel is in 2 buildings. The main building is excellent and the rooms very good. However on booking you will not necessarily know whether you are in the main building or the annexe. You will probably be in the annexe which is 100m from the main building, is next to the main road and has no facilities. If you want a noisy 2* hotel at 4* prices this is for you.

Firstly, if you book this through a price comparison site you are likely to be staying in an annexe to the main hotel. This is not made clear at any stage of the booking.

The main plus point for the stay were it's proximity to the cable car which takes you up to Plan Checrout, which is the base for skiing in Courmayeur. The hotel is literally next door. It is also only about 5 minutes walk in to town which is handy.

Now for some of the negatives. The annexe building is extremely dated and desperately needs a refresh. It only has staff on reception in the evening which means you need to go up to the main building if you need anything, which includes checking out.

The whole building is extremely warm, and the control for climate control in the room didn't work so sleeping at night became uncomfortable. This was not helped by the ridiculously hard beds (2 singles put together rather than a double bed). The rooms were kept very clean though.

Breakfast was ok, but basic. Only one hot food option.

To sum up, if you're going skiing for a few days and want a conveniently located, very basic, then this is probably for you. However, I would not pay more than 80 euros a night for it.
