“A terrible experience”

If you want to have quite nights it is a place to avoid. Slammed doors and loud behavior at 3AM. Furthermore the Hotel let people smoke in the rooms (I thought smoking was not allowed in Italy) and it smells cigarettes in the corridor and in the Elevator.
Too bad because the staff in the restaurant is great and the food is OK.

“great staff,”

stayed with a party of 6, our room (superior) was nice but bathroom small, the standard rooms are very basic. Hotel a couple of minutes walk from a drag which takes you to the top of a red which brings you back to the cable/gondola or take further drags up. weather when we stayed was very bad the plateau rosa section was closed all week due to winds and avalanche risk. the link to zermatt opened briefly on friday but they closed the cable to all but walkers so had to get a 3km t-bar (not good in strong winds). Even though the weather bad found enough skiing, mainly due to 2 in our party being great team leaders in that they had been before and knew all the lilfts. Good huts for lunch (etoille highly recommended and good price) hired a taxi on one windy day when most lifts closed to valtourneche 35euro, had a great day it was protected from the worst at cervinia. Staff at the hotel excellent, canapes with drinks in the bar before dinner and very helpful and friendly, food plentiful and wholesome, will come back to this hotel - hopefully in better weather

“Highly recommended”

I stayed at the Hotel Europa with a small group of friends in January 2006, and can highly recommend the hotel.

The hotel is well situated for the town centre. There are two entries to the ski area in Cervinia, the Hotel Europa is closest to the less convenient of the two (requiring a succession of drag lifts before reaching the main ski area), but the hotel provides a shuttle bus to the main cable car that runs in the morning and late afternoon.

The rooms are spacious, warm and clean with good bathrooms, large beds and a TV and mini-bar in each room. You can request a romm with a view of the Matterhorn. We had half-board; breakfast is typical continental buffet of fruits, cold meats, cheese and breads. The hotel bar is a friendly place to be in the early evening but gets quiet after about 7.30 when most guests head for dinner. We didn't eat in the hotel for lunch or dinner so can't comment on that. There are plenty of good restaurants in Cervinia to try (especially don't miss the excellent Chalet Etoile on the slopes above Plateau Rosa for lunch).

What really set Hotel Europa apart was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We had issues with a broken down hire car which they were happy to sort out for us and they can organise restaurant bookings and ski passes and advise on other nearby resorts if the conditions are not good in Cervinia.

We met one Italian gentleman there who had been coming to the same hotel every year for 25 years. That should be recommedation enough for anyone. I would certainly return.

“great food friendly staff”

We stayed at the Europa 7 nights in April 2005 on skiing holiday (like 99% of guests). Good central town location with minibus to ski lifts 600m away. On the plus side evening dinner excellent and plentiful and the hotel staff some of the friendliest I have ever come across. Hotel's shared facilities such as games room and bar very good. Clientelle a mix of various European nationalities. Only downside the standard rooms are compact and hotel room walls paper thin, fortunately we had quiet neighbours! Having said that overall a most pleasureable experience and certainly no hesitiation in recommending a stay here. Book ahead for the skiing season, this place is popular.
