“Excellent Service, good food, child friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

I passed the Christmas week in this hotel with my wife and 2 kids and must admit that I am very very satisfied. Here are my comments
Location - small walk from Aosta center (around 5 minutes with kids). Very near the train station as well. Taxi will cost around 5 euros.
Room - the room was very, very clean. Since we come from a relatively hotter country, it took us some time to find the right temperature setting for the night.
Reception - very willing to help in everything, extremely nice, especially Signior Carlo; very nice person indeed
Food - Breakfast is abundant and good. We stayed there for the Christmas lunch which was excellent, very good food and wine.
Pool and Gym- When I read the reviews before visiting the hotel I got the impression that the pool was too cold for winter. This is really not the case - the water is ok, sometimes even too warm. Gym is ok for a hotel, plenty of machines and some free weights. There is also a golf training area... children loved it
Children etc- Aosta is really cold in December, so we were in relatively early. There is a large children's room with games and kids DVDs etc. Our kids enjoyed it a lot; they spent hours playing with other children and never wanted to go to sleep. Very good relaxation area where you can just chill out.
So, overall if I would go to Aosta again, I would choose this hotel. People are very helpful, it is very clean and most importantly child friendly.

“Would never go back”

We finally arrived after driving approx 3 hrs, 1 of which was trying to find the hotel, the description of the hotel and directions provided, must have been for another hotel. The hotel is in the middle of a main road, building sites all around. We though we were going to a nice quite hotel and were looking forward to some relaxation.
This was not going to be the case, for on entering the lobby we heard and then saw, two very large dogs, barking and not being kept under control. Checked in, and went to find our room, we were under the impression that we would get a room that met the quality of the 4star rating (who on earth could give this place 4 stars ???) anyway the room, when we entered was at best "a room with a bed in it", can't think of anything else to say about the room, it was that small, the view from the bedroom window was over the unkept gardens, oops nearly forgot the room also come with a tiny bathroom.
We returned to the reception and told the receptionist, who incidentally was very kind and sympathic to our complaints that the hotel just did not meet to the standards of a 4 * hotel.
We took a walk around outside and after 5 minutes decided that we would not have the peacefully weekend we had planned, and returned to the hotel, where the two dogs we now roaming around freely barking at everyione.
It was time for us to check out, we'd had enough, the receptionist said she'd ask her director who was working in a side office to come and talk to us, but the message we were given, was "they opened the bedroom door, so will have to pay" Nice one Director whoever you are, good public relations NOT!
We would never in a million years go back to the hotel.

Room Tip: My best tip, is not to book

This guest has made a wrong reservation. He thought that he was in high mountain and he thought that Aosta was more than 600 m. up the level sea. Aosta is a little city and so with normal traffic. It is not to be asked a the quite. We are very impressed about is complain while is has used the room for all the afternoon and the Director has made the discount when they decided to leave Aosta. The receptionist remember very well that they said they do not like Aosta and not the Hotel. However they have paid Euro 90,00 instead of Euro 140,00. We are very surprised about is feed back. We have made all our best and that night we could not more sell out the room empty.

“There is nothing to complain about.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2010

After reading all the negative comments about this hotel I was not looking forward to stay in it. However when I went there I found out that it is a great hotel. There was more than enough food, beautiful rooms, clean rooms and everyone does his/ her best to keep you satisfied.

“Four star in appearance but nothing else”

Not easy to find - it might be a big building, but the signage isn't obvious. Smart and modern interior. Large, smart and clean room, although it smelt (and felt) damp. Two large dogs (belonging to owner) wandering around, including in dining room at breakfast. Despite the website advertising two restaurants, only one was open in the evening where the service was poor, the menu limited and the food only mediocre. The breakfast was very poor indeed. The receptionist had to get help to check us out in the morning - she didn't seem to know how to do it! Very cold atmosphere, nothing warm or friendly about it. I most definitely would not return.

“Four star in appearance but not in service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2009

I paid €70 b and b which was OK, and there is nothing massively wrong with the hotel, just a bunch of niggles that don't add up to its four star rating. For instance the satellite TV in the room didn't work, even after it was 'fixed'. They advertise that they will pick you up from the railway station - they wouldn't (cab fare was €7 for 1.3K). At dinner the waiter served me my main course before I'd had my antipasto and before he brought the ordered drinks to the table! Was this Italy? I sent the main back of course, but I was very surprised. At breakfast, there was no bread when I arrived just after 8. Just niggles, but they shouldn't happen in a hotel that claims four stars.
