I've going to Aosta once/twice a year since 1998. Always stayed at Hotel Bus, I'm sure there are nicer hotels in town but in location and convenience, it can't be beat. The owners are very helpful in any way they can. Last time I didn't call ahead and they were full. It was a holiday weekend and I didn't know. They found another hotel for me in minutes, even though I called around and everyone told me they were full. They have free WIFI now, however a good signal only in the public areas, (lobby-dining).

The Hotel Bus is located at the edge of the historic town of Aosta, on the Italian side of the Mt. Blanc tunnel. It has on-site parking, yet fronts on the pedestrian streets through town, convenient to the historic center and to dining and shopping.

Checkin was friendly, and there was a small upgrade charge to get a room with a valley view. The territorial views are worth it, and there are expansive vistas over the mountains and the town. Rooms are traditional and comfortable: large beds are composed of two singles pushed together, and there is no internet access. You can, however, make arrangements to connect through a connection in the lobby. There are in-room safes, minibars, and television; street noise is minimal.

The hotel serves a light breakfast of meats,cheeses, breads, and juices; there are no hot items. There are many restaurants nearby in town, along with historic sights and musems.

The 5 nights spent here were very successful.
Aosta is a very attractive little town, and an ideal base for day trips around the region, with enough restaurants in the town to vary eating out in the evenings.
The hotel was friendly, clean, and ideally situated, right on the edge of the (car-free) centre, but in a back road so that it wasn't noisy. Private car-park with barrier.
Not particularly modern rooms or bathrooms, but perfectly acceptable and clean. Towels are changed as often as you want, and beds (sheets/blankets) clean & comfortable.
The view from the room was lovely, overlooking the snow-capped mountains and the attractive slate roof-tops of the town. Breakfast was perfectly adequate and plentiful in a pleasant breakfast room.
Helpful personnel who spoke adequate English or French to help when our command of Italian failed.
True there were few guests when we were there - I suspect the rooms may not be very well sound-proofed, but we had a good time and would recommend the Hotel Bus.

The one totally positive thing no one can deny about this hotel is that its location is fantastic as it's right at the end of Aosta's central plaza and commercial area. However be warned that it's not easy to find! It's tucked away on a back street; if driving DO map your route. If you have a car, the car park can be a little "Euro-tight", but it's eminently convenient.

Reception was very friendly, courteous and efficient. I had no security or billing issues.

I was a little taken aback by how small the room was. It was also surprisingly hot, and that turned out to be due to the small fridge unit tucked under the desk (!). Being September, the AC seemed disabled (I never actually inquired; too busy...) , but disconnecting the fridge during our stay solved the problem. The view from our room was really nice as it overlooked one side of the Aosta valley.

The room was clean, though showing some signs of wear; nothing show-stopping but certainly no 5-star either. I had to disconnect the fan in the bathroom as it made a horrendous racket whenever the bathroom light was turned on. Bath towels are the thin waffled kind. No shower curtain, often typical.

The included breakfast was in the very nice downstairs restaurant, with a good selection of foodstuffs and excellent fresh espresso. Service here was fine as well.

I booked the Bus Hotel based on the reviews I read here on Trip Advisor. While it suited our purposes and budget, I found it a little over rated. Fortunately, its location makes up for its deficiencies. I would definitely stay there again.
