“Great location and value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

I picked this hotel primarily for its convenience to the train station. If you have no car while staying in Aosta Valley, this is a perfect hotel to stay at. The walk from the train station to the hotel is about 7 minutes. As that we planned to visit at least a couple of nearby towns while staying at Hotel Turin, it was wonderful to have the SAVDA bus station within a 5 minute walk as well. Getting bus tickets to all places in Aosta Valley was extremely easy and we had no problem getting to our two locations (Courmayeur and Cogne) from our hotel. Our double room was spacious with a nice bathroom and we were on the 5th floor, so we had a nice view of the mountains. I don't remember much about the included breakfast, but it was fairly basic. Sylvia at Hotel Turin was wonderfully helpful in her back and forth emails to me prior to my trip and then while staying at the hotel. The hotel is also conveniently located to the old part of the town of Aosta where you can find several restaurants and cute shops. My only complaint is that there was no air conditioning and even in September, it was almost too hot for me to sleep at night. The fan that they provided helped just enough for me to sleep.

Room Tip: If you want a view of the mountains, ask for it in advance and they will provide it for you.

“Convenient & Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

If you're looking for a clean, unassuming, reasonably priced hotel that is convenient to the main pedestrian and historic central area of Aosta, Italy, try the Hotel Turin.

Pros:
- reasonably priced
- clean rooms with big picture windows that can be opened for nice mountain breezes
- within 5-10 minute walk of main pedestrian shopping area and most historic sites
- within 10 minute walk of cable car that goes up to mountain resort of Pila (cable car station has pay lockers where you can leave ski or hiking gear)
- friendly reception staff speak Italian, French & English
- behind hotel is daily indoor market, with colorful outdoor farmers market on Saturdays
- hotel has restaurant on mezzanine level (although we did not try it)

Cons:
- parking is a hassle because of downtown area restrictions
- hotel & room decor is outdated (think of it as "retro")
- some hallways smell of cigarette smoke

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room

“Good value for money”

The staff was very helpful - provided info on parking before the arrival.
The room was quite OK - nothing special but more or less standard.
Didn't go to the breakfast but the friend said that nothing to write home about.
The hotel is located quite close to the Aosta centre and right next to the Sunday market - worth visiting actually. But because of the market square it was quite noisy during the night.

“Convenient location and good view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

The hotel is very close to the railway and bus stations and the piazzas. The lady at the reception is helpful and gives a lot of tourist information with maps etc.The rooms are cosy with a very good view of the mountains. There is no air-conditioning. Most of the rooms face a busy street, where there is continuous traffic and people...the sound of the vehicles and people talking goes on until the wee hours of the morning. This is quite disturbing. The single beds were a bit too narrow with rounded edges...quite easy for children to fall off the beds. Breakfast was reasonably ok, with cereal, breads, cheeses but there were no cut fruits. Whole kiwis, apples and pears were on the table... tourists generally dont have much time to cut these or have the whole fruit. Internet and a laptop is available near the breakfast room but the connectivity is very slow.Although the hotel is neat and clean, it looks fairly jaded and the interiors and furnishings/fixtures need renovation. While in Aosta a visit to 'Take-Away Kebabs- Iqbal' is a must. It is 3-5 minutes walk away from Hotel Turin in the pedestrian plaza. As you come out of the hotel, go to your left a few feet, and then turn right at the vacant ground, and again turn right. You'll see the orange awning of the Take Away. Very good, fresh food which is excellent value for money. There is not much seating and there is absolutely no ambience, but there are bar stools and high tables for a quick meal.

“Woth staying in here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2010

We were 5 people skiing together. We got an appartament pretty cheap with living room/ kitchen, balcony and two separate bedrooms. It was really spacious and convenient for our group. There were two things we didnt like: water wasn`t really hot enought for as all to take shower/bath one after other and the appartament smelled like gas (not kidding). But if you actually used the kitchen and set the gas up right it would be fine. It did smell because it was unplugged and left like it.
