4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I stayed at Europe on 12/20 12/21/11
The staff especially at the front desk where friendly and very helpful, wi fi first hour is free $3 euros per hr afterwards .
The room had a spettacolar view of the alps and Pila skii resort ,clean, warm and very easy accessible to elevator.
Hotel is very centrally located to many shops, bars, restaurants, bank etc...
I would return again and again ,excellent place to stay

“Great Hotel in beautiful Aosta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

Hotel Europe in Aosta is a very good hotel and I recommend it wholeheartedly. My room was very comfortable, with a great desk-workspace, fridge, TV with Televisión Española and all the RAI channels. I stayed in December and the heating was very warm and adequate. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was fine, and seemed adequate. The staff was great: very friendly, courteous and helpful. This hotel has the best location in the city of Aosta: it is right next to the most central piazza: Place Émile Chanoux. The city of Aosta itself is very charming and worth two days of your time. Lots of cultural attractions, Roman ruins, good restaurants, and cafés. Don’t miss the romanesque cloister of Sant Orso or the Archaeological Museum. In addition, the Hotel Europe has a great lunch buffet for 16 euros that is the best lunch in town. All in all, for 65 euros per night (single), this was a very good option in Aosta. I think it is better than Hotel Turin or Hotel Roma, which are commented upon favorably in this website.

Room Tip: I was on the first floor, but it was very quiet, and had no problems with noise.

“Comfortable and convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2011

As others have said, this place could do with a makeover but it is comfortable enough and the food was quite good, especially the ample breakfasts. It's not young and trendy but it's in a good location and the staff were helpful.

“Dated rooms but great hotel all the same”

We stayed for a week's ski-ing holiday so was not disappointed with the accomodation - we have stayed in far more basic rooms that were classed as 4*. For a city centre hotel I would not say it is 4* as the rooms and public areas are dated and tired, the decor looks a bit 80's, but as a base for a ski holiday it was fine. The bedding and towels were clean and presentable and everywhere was very clean. The staff were very polite and helpful, the service was very good. We paid 10euros for 24 hours internet for the room, which was timed by the second so lasted the week. We booked a package so had a set menu with 4 course meals, each of which had choices. The food was good and there was lots of it. There were no hot options for breakfast but the continental buffet was more than adequate with lots of choice, personally I don't go to Italy expecting a full English cooked breakfast and was more than happy with what was on offer. The hotel itself was very quiet but, being at the front of the hotel, we did get some noise from local youngsters who gathered in the square during the evening but this did not go on very late. Although we were there to ski, we did look around the town - the hotel is ideally placed for sightseeing and is also only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Pila gondola. We were very happy with our stay and, as part of a package holiday, found it very good value for money. The room had Sky T.V., minibar, hairdryer, toiletries and safe. However, I would have been slightly disappointed if I had been expecting a 4* city centre hotel, it is neither an elegant, grand hotel or a quirky boutique hotel but is o.k. for what it is.

“Not too bad, but in desperate need of renovation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2011

Overall, this hotel provides reasonable levels of comforts. Room size is ok, the bathrooms have all the basic features you would expect, including free top end toiletries. Cleaness is also acceptable. Breakfast a bit lousy but not too bad. Location is ideal, straight in the middle of the center, a few steps from the beautiful Place Chanoux and the lovely pedestrian area. Service is friendly.
All together, it still remains one of the best accommodation that can be found in Aosta, but be prepared for nothing special, really worn out rooms and bathroom, and a general atmoshephere of "we have seen better days here". The management should really invest as soon as possible in refurbishment works, but they probably know that there are few competitors in Aosta and this allows them to keep on as it is.
Prices are not cheap: we paid Euro 160 for a double room with breakfast, which considering the comments above is not a little price. However, we found this rate at the very last minute on the internet and this was literally the one and only double room bookable in Aosta for that night. By booking in advance and/or contacting the hotel directly, hopefully you will able to get a better deal.
