I would really like to give this place a rating of 3.5 and I have a lot to say, as this place has many pros and cons. This was our first time in Trento, the city is beautiful and quaint and this hotel was perfectly located. Close to a grocery store and a great little Greek sandwich shop right around the corner. Just a few blocks from the train station, could easily be walked. We had 5 bags between the two of us (which is ridiculous!) so we did not attempt the walk, but it was a rather silly taxi trip. The price of this hotel was average for what we were paying for hotels during our trip, but we definitely stayed at better for the price. We paid a little extra and got the balcony room, which made up for a little of this room's misgivings, the view on to the piazza and the people watching was really nice. The room was fairly large and the bathroom a good size, although narrow. The beds were awful! At least the one I slept on. It sagged very bad towards the middle and was very lumpy, but I did sleep and wasn’t sore in the morning. Can definitely tell this place needs some upgrading. Here I'm on the fence if the decor and feel of the room was a pro or a con. I love the old, quaint, European style, that’s why I travel here, but this place, on the inside, was almost borderline seedy to me. Could have just been a long day of travel, it's in a great location and is half the price of the hotels on either side of it, so there you have it. They were actually doing some construction and remodeling while we were there. This probably leads towards my lower rating a bit, the whole place smelled of paint and just felt a little shabby with all the plastic everywhere. This hotel also has no lift, so pack light if you stay here! The staff was helpful and breakfast was decent. If I am ever back in Trento, I will probably stay here again, but it will be because of the location and price.
Room Tip: This hotel has two buildings. The one offering views of the piazza and the building right behind it...
