We were in town for a weekend, and wanted a hotel that was located close enough to walk to the town but that also offered reasonable valuable for money. After reading reviews on Trip Advisor, we opted for Hotel Zima. We were very satisfied.
The room was exactly as pictured on the web site, clean and comfortable. The room had a nice view over the hills (there are other buildings in between, so don't think of a sweeping valley view, but it's nice view nonetheless).
There is internet in the lobby, but not available at least in our room. Breakfast was the very nice spread I have come to expect at good Germany hotels: breads, cheeses, cold cuts, cereals, yogurts, and cakes.
As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel is family run and the host (I don't know her name, other reviews mention it's Christina) is incredible. From the time we phoned to make a reservation to our checkout she was warm, pleasant, and knowledgeable. She made some excellent recommendations for walks we could take and a dinner, which were spot on. On the second day of our stay the weather turned a little wet, so we began to think that we should leave a day early. I approached her with some trepidation as we had reserved for two days, but she was incredibly understanding about our leaving a day early. (As it turned out, we decided to stay, which proved to be a good choice. The weather improved, and we had a great day.)
The only small not so much negative as caution about the hotel is its location. It is a solid 12-15 minute walk to the town center. It's along a pleasant residential street, and on most occasions I didn't mind this at all. But on returning from a day of walking in the hills, I did wish the hotel were just a few steps closer to town. But in the end I think it's a small inconvenience in exchange for a very nice stay, a great host, and a very good value.
