We stayed here overnight on a trip from Firenze to Innsbruck. The location of the hotel is just perfect, right in the middle of the pedestrian shopping area. Also the train station is only a few steps away which was very convienent as we were travelling by train. When travelling by car a underground parking is available under the hotel. The city of bolzano is quite charming with small shopping streets surrounded by old buildings in Tyrolean style architecture. You will be amazed how many shops there are in this small town, every big brand seems to have a shop here. A special attention goes to the alpine shops from sportler, which have a enormous assortment in alpine and ski equipment. The citta hotel reflect the charm of the city and is really a part of it. The hotel is quite old but the rooms have been redecorated a couple of years ago. They are not very luxurious but quite original with wooden floor boards. In the basement there is a real wellness centre with turkish bath, big jacuzzi, sauna... very relaxing after a day of shopping or hiking.
The breakfast buffet is really amazing. Varieties of local bread, pastries, meats, cheese, fruits,...the choice is endless. Even prosecco is available.
To end this review, perfect price/quality relation. We will certainly return to this hotel if we are back in Bolzano, it's worth every euro !

We stayed at the hotel during Christmas time. We had a very spacious room overlooking the square and the Christmas market. The view from the front looking rooms and the location of the hotel are the best in town. The hotel itself is a little bit old-fashioned, but you will find all the comforts you need. Extra point for the breakfast, which was really superb. If only it was a little cheaper we would give the maximum rating.

Yes, hotel was clean, but the ambiance was not that good. The design of the rooms were very bad. I stayed two nights at different rooms. My rooms were all without view... I couldn't eat anything at the breakfast. The breakfast room workers were not able to speak English. The night worker at the reception was very rude. He refused to help to park my car. So I don't think to go this hotel again...
