The hotel itself has a nice design with interesting art work and a nice attempt at a modern, funky feel. But the coolness stopped there for us.
Our room at the hotel was pretty bad. All the way down the end of the 2nd floor, next to the service entrance. Very loud with the service people slamming the door starting at 5:00am. Also quite loud from the street noise, as our room overlooked the main street. Our room was on a supposedly non-smoking floor, but the room and the hallway smelled like smoke. The hotel is quite new, but the room´s walls looked battle worn. The bathroom was quite small, the sink´s drain was blocked and it was the only room on the floor with a shower and not a bathtub. We asked for the sink to be fixed and it was not done. We were generally unhappy with the room and the uncomfortable bed and were very surprised that the hotel did not offer us a better room. We paid 90EUR for a weeknight - in a town where the going rates are between 75 and 100 EUR based on our interet research -- and felt like they could have made an effort to ensure that our stay was a bit more comfortable.
Breakfast was included, but it was not good at all. Stale bread, watery juice -- I think they just added extra water to concentrate to make it go farther, and unresponsive staff rounded out this poor attempt at a continental breakfast buffet.
We booked our one night stay via the HRS.de website, via which we were guaranteed a free bottle of water. Needless to say, that did not happen.
To top it off, the hotel is kind of far out of the city centre. If you do not have a car with you, do not stay here. We had a car and found street parking rather easily. So that was at least a plus.
