We booked due to it being close to the train station and got a good last minute deal on Wotif.com
It is a pleasing contrast inside to the typically grotty outside area (being near a train station in a continental city is always a recipe for accumulating less salubrious types)
As far as areas around train stations go this one didn't seem too bad, saw a few dodgy people and if there were prostitutes outside as people say, they were a heck of a lot better looking than we get here in Scotland!!!
Inside the hotel is very sleek, clean and modern. It's not a big hotel but has all the creature comforts you need for a nice night in but is also a short walk to the Palazzas where you'll find nice Apertivo Cafe bars and Gelato bars, yum :)
The staff were very helpful and had excellent English.
We arrived in a sorry state, backpacks on and tired from a long day travelling from the Alps during the usual Italian transport strikes yet despite our initial rough appearance the staff were still pleasant to us. And this of course continued once we'd been up stairs and tidied our selves up a bit!
The room was big and was well stocked with technology and security features and the bathroom was very big and clean.
My only gripe was poor water pressure in the shower. A disappointment because after a long day there's nothing better than a blasting hot hotel shower.
