“ac torino”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2011

The location of the hotel was within a convinient distance to the Lingotto conference centre which suited me. It was however much more difficult to get into the city centre with the free shuttle bus only running on weekends. On my first night there was a big party held on the patio space outside my hotel room. The music was incredibly loud and went on until quite late making it very difficult for me to get any sleep. This was not something I expected to endure when I booked my stay and I found it most unsatisfactory that no compensation was given to guests who had to put up with this.

“Great hotel, great location, thin walls..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

The hotel is located very close to Lingotto station and (one of) the biggest shopping malls in Turin. The taxi ride to the city centre takes about 10 minutes. The looks both of the lobby and the room is very modern with a warm touch (the pictures on their website are very accurate). The room has a very good size with two comfortable working chairs, a separate sofa and coffee table and a rather soft but still comfortable double bed with four pillows. The bathroom is separated by a milky glass door (one side toilet, bidet and bathtub, other side a glass sink and a mirror). There is plenty of space to store your suitcase and clothes. There is a flat screen TV with satellite channels, a CD player and a fridge with free soft drinks. The AC works on the very slow side and we had the first few days only lukewarm and hot water and a coffee maker is missing.

The sound proofing of the windows is excellent, however you hear the neighbour rooms and the hallway very well. Also they seem to have from time to time events in the garden (in our case a seafood buffet with a DJ), hence if you are an early sleeper or sensitive to sounds rather take a room not facing this side.

We used room service frequently. Besides having a break in some time of the afternoon and no service after midnight, it was very efficient. The quality of the food however is not really up to the standard of the hotel and the prices are high. Fortunately you have quite a few choices to shop and eat in the very near neighbourhood; we liked Eatitaly a lot, it is a fancy grocery store with different food stands and tables.

The staff of the hotel is very nice and helpful. A late check-out was no problem, the rooms are very clean and they clean it at almost at any hour of the day, we got once free drinks as we had to wait for a long time until they were ready..

Altogether I would stay in this hotel again. I liked the design and size of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff and the location of the hotel. On the downsize I would mainly mention the thin walls.

“Luxury hotel a long way from the centre - breakfast average”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2010

The hotel was very nice - high quality finish (we had a superior room).

Location was poor - you need to take a bus or tram into centre (at least 30 mins walk).

Breakfast not very impressive but excellent coffee when you order one from the waiter.

If this hotel was in the centre it would be very very good!

The bus is easy to catch but ask reception for a map and an explanation of where the stop is etc.

“Very good hotel, a little far away from the downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2010

It's a hotel with modern installations, very nice and with good ambiance. If you plan to have dinner at the hotel make sure you make a reservation, otherwise you can find that the restaurant is full and cannot attend you.

Other hotels in Torino much more close to the center have poor garages, this one is far from the center but has a very good parking (in case you travel with your own car).
