“The maid left my door wide open all day!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

The first day I stayed at this hotel, I came back to the room to find the door propped wide open. Luckily, nothing was stolen, but the hotel mainly laughed it off, saying the maid must have been distracted while cleaning. They did not offer any compensation for the violation of my trust, and every day after that I was extremely nervous to leave the place and carried anything remotely valuable with me. Also, my non-smoking room had an ashtray, and smelled of past smoke, and the hallways and stairs smelled like smoke.

“Great experience”

We arrived to Turin to see the The Shroud of Turin on display, but had no booked a hotel in advance. The first couple of hotels we checked near the train station were either full or too expensive. Hotel Bologna cost 90euros for one night in a double room and it was a perfect location, just across the street from the main station, which is therefore an easy walking distance to the Royal Palace, Egyptian Museum, Film Museum, etc. (Turin is quite small, easy to walk all of it.) The only imperfection is that we never did manage to get the tv in our room to work.

“The best location at the expense of comfort”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2010

I chose the Hotel Bologna after reading many favorable reviews from this site and other sources. The best thing about this hotel is the location. This hotel is a very basic European hotel. Don't expect any help getting your luggage to the elevator( you have to go up 2 stairs to get to it) much less to your room. Our room was on the second floor faceing a side street. We never had a good night sleep due to the noise. We had to ask for soap and toilet paper a several times. The bed had seen better days. The best way to describe it is you lie down as close as possible to the edge and fight all night to keep from rolling to the middle. I asked Simone, at the front desk, if he could change our room (we were staying for 6 nights) and he said he would see if he had anything else. After checking for 3 days I gave up asking. Simone is the only English speaking person in the hotel. If you need something when he isn't there you're on your own. Breakfast was hit and miss depending on who set up the food. This hotel is ok for one night.

“Great Location - Helpful Staff - Great Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2009

This hotel was a fabulous find. As we were booking on our way to our destination, this was a pleasant surprise. They provided us a parking spot right in front of the hotel (very convenient) and it was in a perfect location for touring around on foot. Found a great restaurant just around the corner from the hotel (pasta and pizza).

We have an 11 year old child with us so they provided us with a suite. My son enjoyed having his own space. All rooms fully renovated, beautiful hardwood floors, wood furniture. Owners very friendly and helpful.
