A friend and I stayed at Hotel Italia for 2 nights and overall we had a good experience. The hotel is charmingly decorated, as was our room, which was equipped with a colour television and which gave us access to a private balcony overlooking the Corso Stati Uniti. The room was clean, but my friend, who suffers from arachnophobia, did notice several spiderwebs on the ceiling, which is unfortunate. The hotel offers free Internet access and the staff were helpful in general, except for an incident in which one of the staff members got very annoyed with my fellow traveller for accidentally switching the hotel's computer off, and more or less shouted at her. The breakfast offered is excellent. The hotel's location is good, with a bus-stop just in front of the hotel and restaurants within walking distance. When staying at the hotel Italia, I would advise other guests to make sure that they have precise directions to the hotel however, as my fellow traveller and I spent two hours walking in the rain before finding the hotel. The hotel's website does not offer any directions, and once in Turin, my friend and I, armed with Google Maps' directions, tried finding the hotel but ended up being misguided by several (confused, though well-meaning) people who offered to help us. We walked for 2 hours before finding the hotel, only to find eventually that the hotel is 5 minutes' walk from Porta Nuova. Overall, though, I had an enjoyable stay at Hotel Italia.
