This was my first time staying at this hotel under the NH brand. I used to come here monthly when it was Le Meridien. There were no apparent changes made other than the sign outside the hotel. The staff at checkin were professional, kind and helpful. The rooms remain very comfortable and spacious, having top quality bed sheets, mattress and pillows. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with all the amenities one would expect from a four star hotel.
The location is not ideal if one prefers to be in the heart of downtown Turin. I find it less congested with ample free parking. The hotel is directly across the street from the original Eataly, a must visit for those who love Italian food. The hotel is also adjacent to the Lingotto 8 shopping mall.
The breakfast buffet is plentiful and a great place to start your day. Unfortunately, I dined at the hotel's restaurant one evening, only to find mediocre food. I started my meal with a complimentary rolled zucchini stuffed with ricotta cheese on a bed of creamed squash. This was followed by a vegetarian wheat penne pasta with black cabbage, broccoli and creamed cauliflower. It was just okay, nothing to write home about. I then had the sliced steak served on a bed of greens, also served with a side of sad looking grilled vegetables. The steak had grizzle and was difficult to chew and the grilled vegetables were flavorless. Poor presentation. Perhaps it was simply a bad night for the chef, but I would recommend dining elsewhere. "La Pista" restaurant is located on the top floor in the adjacent shopping mall and worthy of a visit.
The lobby lounge was relaxing for cocktails or an after dinner drink and the bartender was knowledgeable in mixing drinks.
I recommend NH Lingotto primarily for the business traveler. I will return.
