“great stay in turin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

Excellent location, only 5 minutes to the train station, close to great restaurants and walking distance to many attractions. The rooms were smaller than ones in north america but comfortable. The tub was tiny and only handheld shower but hey, it worked and was welcome after a hot day out sightseeing. Staff was generally friendly, breakfasts were substantial and fresh. The building was built in 1850 and made into a hoel 1950 so don't expect to look like a Super 8, but that is part of the charm. Interesting colours throughout.

Room Tip: It was quiet on the 5th floor.

“Very small and uncomfortable room.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

Very small room, without even a closet or wardrobe! (there's no place for it anyway). Only 2 hangers on a coat rail...
The bathroom is even smaller, uncomfortable for just ONE person. The shower was losing water all time, that meaning the water becoming stagnant (which ovbiously smells and it's unhygienic).
Breakfast ok. Service ok.

“Poor rooms”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

I am used to stay in the hotels of the accor group. I have a platinum status with their a club card.

We had two rooms in this hôtel.

This accor hotel is the worst one I ever stayed. The rooms are very poors: the A/C did not work in the rooms despite the employee at the front desk did all efforts to accomodate us with new rooms, but it remains the same. In addition, the bathrooms are dating from the middle age, are dirty, and are smelling really bad.

Breakfast is very poor too in comparison to the All Seasons hotels in France.

This is a very old hotel and only the lobby has been refurbished. If you have the choice, stay somewhere else.

“Good location but very basic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

There are two types of All Seasons hotels - newly build or newly remodeled hotels, generally quite nice, with modern equipment etc. Perfect example - All Seasons Paris Gare de'l Est TGV. Second type - old hotels, rebranded as All Seasons. Every time is a roulette - hotel can be ok, or can be total disappointment (like All Seasons Melbourne Victoria). Astoria - is somewhere in between: beds are new, walls were re-painted, new bathroom equipment, but rooms are small (in my room distance between the bowl and the shower cabin was 10 cm), window frames - old. However, personnel is friendly, hotel is perfectly located (Train station Porta Nuova and Airport bus stop are just across the street, or if you prefer bus + train to the airport - bus stop is literally just in front of the entrance door (bus number 11, to Dora FS or next stop because of the construction works at this train station).

“Well choice for short stays”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

We stayed Astoria for a night. It was very close to Porta Nuova Central Station. The room was a little bit dark and small, especially bath tube is very narrow. But these are not major problems. The room and bath was very clean, convenient. Front desk staff was gentle and helpful. Breakfast was continental, there's no multiple choices but fresh and satisfying. Lobby decoration was lovely and stylish. You can be able to access free internet at living room. Moreover it's possible to drink free tea, coffee and fruit juices all the time at lobby.
Cost-quality balance is good. As a result; Albergo Astoria is a good hotel and we recommend this hotel for short stays.
