“Very nice place, try to get room 232 = big balcony.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

If it hadn't been for a cool 'pay 2 stay 3 nights' deal, we would probably never have come across this place.

The hotel is overall very nice, clean, great location without being too loud. I found the staff very friendly. We got very lucky getting the one room that has a spacious balcony (enough space for a table and 4 chairs).

Weird thing was that the partial ante-room was taken over by an oversized treadmill. This tiny room could be very well used as a separate sitting / TV room or even extra bedroom. Ideal for business people who travel with their families, but want to watch some TV / do some computer work while others are sleeping.

The decor of the place is a bit of a mixed bag, as if someone saw the very nice old style and thought it was a great idea to add some 80ies touches.

Breakfast is very good, but it takes a few days to figure out the egg cooker.

Internet connection was easy and solid (on ethernet, wi-fi is not that great) but you need a password / login for each device, which gets tedious when you travel with 3 laptops and 2 smartphones.

Room Tip: 232 = big balcony

Dear Guest,
We thank you for your feedback.
It is a pleasure to konw we've been an unexpected nice surprise.
The placing fo the tapis-roulant in the room is due of the increasing demand of well-being facilities. On the same subject, we would like to inform you that very soon a gym will be opended in the hotel, free for our guests.
Regarding internet and the need of putting a password for each device, we would like to say that it is required by securty reasons.
Otherwise it is possible to surf through the personal link to the telephone company.
We wish you'll come back in Torino and stay again with us... maybe once more in room 232!
See you soon!

“The staff made it all ii”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

Stay there early August 2011. Pay 108 Euros for a triple room including breakfast and internet. Used www.booking.com
I got room 250. The design of the hotel is very old and the management did what it could with the building. So the rooms are probably not what it looks like in 5* hotel, but it was ok.
Pls beware that the triple room is a room with an additional bed so the M2 are quite limited !
To be honnest, the bedding is of average to poor quality. The breakfast was very good but the location of the restaurant (level -1, windowless) is a not the best.
Nevertheless, the staff is really nice and helpful in all way possible. Probably the best hospitality worker I have met so far.

Dear Guest,
It is very nice for us to know that you think our service was the best ever you received.
It is a big success for us!
As you've seen, our hotel is placed in a XIX Century building, therefore the spaces may be different compared with a modern building, but, on the other hand, we have some spectacular rooms with lacunar ceiling or with frescoes of the same XIX Century.
Please, feel free to ask to stay in one of these rooms, if in the future you would like to try this experience.
We wait for you! See you soon!

“Decent hotel, good location and price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 April 2011

Stayed for about a week in late August/early September. All of Italy shuts down in August, so that may explain some of our experiences. On one hand, we got a free parking spot right next to the hotel, so that was a bonus. On the other, they turned the air conditioning off during the day (which was unpleasant since we did some work from the room), plus it shut off a times during the night. The room overlooked the front of the hotel, and even with the double windows shut, it was still loud down below (between street noise and pedestrian traffic from the train station) - recommend asking for a room around back if you're a light sleeper.

The room itself was fine, a bit threadbare and we had to double-check to make sure they gave us a deluxe since it bore a much closer resemblance to a "classic," but a decent value. Small but adequate bathroom. Internet service was flaky and other guests had problems too, but we were eventually able to get it working. The hotel serves a good breakfast and the staff was helpful.

The location is good - right across from the train station but a safe area. Overall, a decent option.

“Rest Easy Here -- Great Choice for Torino (especially if arriving by train)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 March 2011

We had a very pleasant one-night stay at Hotel Genova, and would definitely stay here again. We saw the sign for the hotel as we were walking out of the train station, and were walking into our hotel room about 10 minutes after the train arrived. We were on the top (5th) floor in a comfortable, quiet room. (Soundproofing within the hotel seemed good, and the area around the hotel doesn't have people congregating outside.) The bathroom has clearly been remodeled and was spacious and incredibly clean -- it actually made me feel a bit inadequate about my own cleaning skills. It's about a 20 minute walk clear to the other side of the historical center of Torino, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the hotel. Breakfast was more substantial than in most Italian hotels, and the staff was professional. This hotel provides very good value for money, and I'm pleased that we stayed here.

Dear Guest,
We were very glad to see you enjoyed your stay in our town and found the Best Western Hotel Genova a comfortable place to go after visiting museums and going shopping.
In this period, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Italian Reunification and Torino, first capital of the nation, is like a beautiful lady getting smart for a gala dinner and there's even more to see than usual... so, come back soon!
We wait for you! Best regards

“Good Value for Money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2011

I went to Turin for a project meeting with another colleague. We stayed at the Best Western Genova Hotel. The rooms are functional. The hotel is quite. There is another Best Western that is on the main road, but this one is not on the main road so it had less noise.

Location wise, the hotel is right near the train station, and many bus lines. There are many restaurants in the vicinity, so this was very good.

The staff were very nice and helpful. The only problem I (and my colleague) had was the air quality in the rooms. The windows could not be opened, and the air got dry during the night. However, we experienced that in the place where we had our meetings as well, so it might be that there is not much humidity in Turin all together, and we are coming from a costal town.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone (if they do not bother about the dryness issue).

I think this hotel was good value for money.
