My wife and I recently spent one night at the Best Western Gran Mogol. I was on my own for planning a trip in Turin because its one place in Italy Rick Steves doesn't mention in his book. So I relied on TripAdvisor.Com and it worked! We wanted to see the Shroud of Turin and we did! This hotel was perfectly located for restaurants, very close access to all the shops and restaurants downtown, the Duomo where the Shroud is- and a really close walk to the train station. It was definitely a no frills place but if you're pretty self-sufficient and just want a place to sleep that is clean and comfortable this is a good bet. The hotel staff was pleasant and the lobby is a nice place to wait for your train time if you end up having a little extra time.

I stayed here for two nights as the last stop on my tour of North Italy. The location of the hotel is good, two minutes walk from the Torino Porta Nuova station, which has a frequent bus service to the main airport. It is also safe (or so I found as a solo female traveller), as some parts of Turin have been noted to be slightly unsafe.

Rooms are clean, and of a good size, with a good sized bathroom. The breakfast is good, staff are relatively friendly considering it is a chain hotel.

The main drawback is there is no character to the hotel, but this is fine if you are only staying for a couple of nights.

Comfortable, clean room. Maid service was excellent and they were very friendly even though they spoke little English. Breakfast was nice ... good way to start the day. For business travelers, the internet connection was iffy at best especially in my room. This is centrally located right next to the train station at the end of Via Roma ... short walking distance to all the sights of Turin. Quiet at night as well.
