“Fantastic breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

This hotel is located very close to the train and bus terminals and is great for venturing out into the surrounding areas. The room was large and clean, and the bathroom nice. It was surprisingly quiet and there was even a bar fridge (very rare in most places I stayed).

The most memorable thing would be the fantastic breakfast. A selection of pastries, cereals, breads, ham and cheese, fruit and yoghurt with juice. You can get a freshly made coffee and the highlight for me was the hot chocolate that was so thick you could almost stand your spoon up in it...delicious!!

Room Tip: Make sure to stay for breakfast

“Cosy and safe hotel in central Asti”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 May 2011

Although is right opposite the train station, the place is really quiet! The windows have double glass windows so you dont hear a thing! The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is really handy because the train Station and because its also just a 10 mins walk to the centre of town. The breakfast is the regular coffee and pastry but the coffee is really nice! (and a real cappucino from a coffee machine)
The staff is nice, efficient and really welcoming! Definetly I will come back if I am back in Asti!

“Good hotel, nice people, excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2008

This hotel is clean and modern on the inside. The rooms are small of course, but decently appointed. The front desk personnel were comfortable with english and were helpful regarding directions. The breakfast was a decent value.

Thew hotel is literally across the street from the train station but the area is very nice - lots of stores and cafes around.

You can't miss with this hotel.

“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2007

Hotel Cavour is run by a very friendly family. It is located directly across the street from the central train station and it's very close to the bus we picked up to the Luca Ferraris Vineyard.

Our entire trip was in budget hotels and this was the indeed the fanciest - our room was very clean, large, with a large bathroom and shower, a balcony, and a "real" queen sized bed with no crack...it was great. Despite being near the train station, Hotel Cavour was quiet.

I suggest staying for the 3 Euro breakfast. The first morning we got our own and it was so-so, but the second morning we had breakfast at the hotel and it was much better. They have their own espresso machine so the cappucino was great as were the pastries.

We didn't spend a lot of time in the city as we were only there to visit the winery for a day so I cannot properly comment on location relative to Asti attractions. There was a nice pizza/pasta restaurant about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations based on the star rating and I highly recommend it.

  • Liked — All the comforts of home
  • Disliked — Hair dryer - but I don't like any of the hair dryers in European hotels

“Not so nasty”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2007

The hotel is right opposite the train station in Asti. There are cafés and bars around the hotel but my room was air conditioned so with windows closed it was quiet. You can park for free in a secure courtyard at the back of the hotel. Bed and breakfast was 48 euros. Comfortable enough and close to the historic core of the town. Not perhaps a place for an extended stay but for a stopover or to look around Asti, it's okay.
