“Enchanting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

A beautifully restored villa resting high above with a beautiful view. Friendly staff, food nice and I cannot say enough good things. I will certainly return. An area in the middle of the wine country with a lot of fantastic restaurants.

“Top quality, friendly, relaxed and stylish hideaway in Piedmonte”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2010

We rented the whole hotel for 28 friends plus young children for my 40th birthday party. We and our friends enjoyed every moment of it, including the friendly and casual yet top quality service, food and beverage. The place is gorgeous and Peter and his team real top people making all guests feeling italian hospitality at its best.

“A warm welcome in Piemonte”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2009

We stayed at the Castello di Villa for a week and we had a great time. The staff is warm, friendly and speaks Italian, German and English. We booked a junoir suite and had no regrets. The room (40 square meter) was lovely, good furnished and very spacious. It had a very large and well equiped bathroom. The view over the hills of Piemonte from the windows of the room is wonderful, you even could see the Alpes.
The buffet breakfast was of good quality. When the weather is good, you can enjoy breakfast at the terrace outside in the sun or in the shade.
The (internal) restaurant serves very good meals. The restaurant has no card, but every evening there is a different menu. Sometimes there is an anti pasti buffet, or another special diningevening. There is no obligation to eat in the restaurant, but it is very recommendable to eat there.
The hotel has a lovely Cantina, where you can choose the wine to drink at your meal, or at the terrace
The terrace by the pool is very attractive. You have a wonderful view over the Piemonte hills, you can have a drink and if you wish they serve a snack, like a platter of antipasti.
We did not want to go home after a wonderful week!

“Tranquility and Gentle Luxury at Castello Di Villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2008

We arrived at this hotel travel-worn and hungry, to celebrate my in-law's 50th wedding anniversary. The staff greeted us with genuine warmth and efficiently helped us get settled, anticipating all our needs.

Our large room was exquisite, and cool in the hot summer. The hotel was full yet quiet at night. We slept deeply in our beautiful and comfortable four poster bed, beneath a vaulted and painted ceiling (decorated with women representing the four seasons).

The food was fresh, the wine list impressive, and the pool refreshing. The staff in this hotel were attentive and thoughtful, making our large party feel welcome and cared for as we celebrated this special family event.

  • Liked — our bedroom and the pool
  • Disliked — internet only in the lounge near the front desk

“Being foreign. Feeling local.”

Altogether wonderful. The villa is tucked up on a hill in a small, immaculate village. The villa holds a very prominent presence in the town and looks out over rolling hills speckled with grape vines. I was treated as a friend right from the start. Everyone was very helpful and kind. Not overbearing but always available. The food was delicious and of the region. Indeed, the chef is himself a talented sweetheart and eager to share his passion for the region's food and wine. You get the lovely feeling that you have access to all that the region offers; in other words, whatever you are looking for they will help you find and offer their advice and advocacy along the way.

There was a lovely spirit palpable among the guests. Very mellow and serene as well as fun-loving. I heard at least three languages being spoken, none of which I speak; importantly, i was always able to communicate one way or another and never made to feel embarrassed for not speaking their language.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed very comfortable. I slept great. It was always easy to relax. There is a minimum of frills. Decor is tasteful and mercifully to the point. You never feel like you are paying for a bunch of unwanted schlock; at the same time you are never wanting for anything. A great balance. The pool/terrace is the place where I found myself most often. A happy balance between privacy and community.

Note to travellers the mobility problems - there is no elevator and stairs are largely unavoidable.

I very much look forward to returning. And have confidence that I will feel very welcome. A special place.
