“Country Delight!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

Our 2-day stay at Villa Sampaguita in December 2011 was a country-delight! Host and hostess, Tim and Rina, were welcoming and friendly. The villa is charming and relaxing. Our room was comfortable and the bed was pefect. Rina is a wonderful "chef" and our several-course dinner and breakfasts were delicious. Everything is down-home, casual, and inviting. Tim's wine is wonderful and his stories are entertaining. If you need directions around the area, Tim is your man. He is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, with maps and brochures - and he made all of our reservations. When we left, we felt like Tim and Rina were part of our family - and the Villa was a lovely second home.

“The best of Piedmont”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

We had a wonderful September vacation to Italy which was very much enhanced by our 3 night stay at Villa Sampaguita. Our hosts, Tim and Rina were gracious and very knowledgeable. Our room was spacious and clean, the breakfasts delicious and fresh and the wonderful multi course meal that Rina cooked and we shared with 7 other guests was delightful. The food was delicious, Rina really can cook, and local wines were served by Tim with each course. Rina was so helpful in suggesting several local restaurants that we enjoyed and Tim was terrific with his mapping of directions and suggestions for places to visit. He called ahead to a winery in the Barolo valley that we visited. I just can't imagine a trip to NW Italy/Asti without a stay at Villa Sampaguita!!

Room Tip: No fitness center on the premises

Hi Cheryl and Bob, we would like to thank you for staying with us and to let you know how much we both appreciated and enjoyed your stay.

You were the most wonderful guests and I hope that all our others this year are like you.

We trust that you also had a good day at Lago Maggiore and that your son enjoys his Barolos (you too).

“Great place for our honeymoon!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Our stay at this B&B was the highlight of our honeymoon in Italy. The B&B was a delightful place situated on a small farm with easy access to all sorts of wineries.

Tim and Rina were fabulous hosts. We had decided to visit the region because of our love for Moscato D'Asti. In addtion to pointing out all the great places to visit for Moscato D'Asti, Tim gave us great recommendations on other types of wineries to visit near by. Turns out Acqui (of Brachetto d'Acqui - the sparkling sweet red wine) is also nearby. One place he sent us to was a lovely winery run in the old tradition by the most wonderful couple. They gave us a tour of their winery processes, a personal tasting, and told us that they were the 6th generation running the winery!

Tim also had great restaurant recommendations - and we had fantastic local Piedmontese cuisine. Meanwhile, Rina was cooking ridiculously awesome breakfasts every morning - giving us fresh eggs from her chickens, and baking fresh bread every morning. She also cooked us an amazing dinner one night - topping if off with an incredible banana souffle!

They also had the cutest and friendliest cat, Mr. Bean who loved to be pet.

Besides that - the rooms were lovely, spacious, and with nice decor. Everything was very clean. A computer with free internet access was available, and there was plenty of common space - a nice living room with a fireplace for lounging. We also saw a hammock in the yard, but we just didn't have time to enjoy it all.

We couldn't have picked a better place for our honeymoon and we are definitely hoping to go back.

Room Tip: We peaked in some of the other rooms once the guests left and they were all very nice.

“lovely lovely bed and breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

what a wonderful gem of a bed and breakfast! tim and rina are perfect hosts. they make everything seem effortless! you truly feel (and are) staying at the home of a couple who welcomes you and makes everything comfortable and cozy. at least one dinner at villa sampaguita is a must - while rina cooks amazing courses that just keep coming, tim pours heavenly local wines and gives recommendations for all of the things to do in the area. whether your prefer wine tasting at a family owned vineyard, or checking out the big name wineries that sell in large quantities, tim knows where to send you and takes care of planning and reservations, also for restaurants, local festivals, truffle hunting, etc. thanks for a lovely weekend in asti!

“Wonderful hosts”

We stayed at relaxing Villa Sampaguita for five nights in the end of September in the nice and spacious two bedrooms apartment.
Tim and Rina were really wonderful hosts, we felt very welcome and that they opened their home to us. They were also very helpful, and Tim arranged a great trip for us with a driver in the Langhe/Barolo area including a visit to a winery, a nice place for lunch and also truffle hunting. He could always recommend a trip or a place to visit on the basis of our desires, and a good place for lunch or dinner, and he gave us maps and information.
We were also lucky to take part in their harvesting of the grapes, and we were even allowed to crush the grapes the old fashioned way - with our feet!! A memory for life!
Rina was a great cook, and the night we arrived she served us a wonderful five course meal together with some of Tim's good and robust wines. Breakfast was also very good with freshly baked bread every morning. And one night we sat outside our apartment with a simple meal, Rina appeared suddenly with a good salad and cheese. They did all the best for us.
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Sampaguita and can highly recommend it.
