I traveled with a friend for a two day trip. While the hostel is not in the city centre, it's walking distance(5-10 mins from the Duomo) and there are trams available either way. We had trouble identifying the hostel at first, but if you follow the numbers on the street it is easy. You must go inside the gate and to the left on the bottom floor is the office door. We stayed in the upper hostel area. The dorms had at most 8 beds (4 bunks, 2 high), and a bathroom in each with toilet, sink area separate, and 2 showers with HOT water. There was also free internet at one computer station, a dining area, full kitchen, and lounge/common area. The beds though bunk-style were soft! The sheets and blankets were free, and lockers assigned (bring your own padlock or buy one for 3 euro).
There is a curfew at 11pm, but the entry to the hostel portion of the complex is keypad entry, so you can get in with your code anytime. The 11pm rule is really like quiet hours, and 11am is checkout.
The staff was cordial and spoke english well. For 18 euro at only one of two hostels I found in all of milan, I was expecting a dingy place far away, but I was pleasantly surprised. EXCELLENT value for the money.
Nothing fancy (except the bathrooms were fancy), but clean and accomodating and friendly. I would go back again.
