“Clean and close to terminal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

Hotel is only a few blocks from the bus & train terminal. Extremely easy to get to/from. Metro lines are accessible from terminal so makes it easy to get to the Duomo and other tourist attractions. At night the area seems a little seedy as does the specific street of the hotel. Just watch yourself and it seems ok. Down the street is Istanbul Doner Kebab. Not Italian, but is cheaper and better than MickeyD's if you are looking for a quick bit to eat. Quite tasty I thought. Hotel Rooms are pleasant and clean. Don't expect too much but worth the great price I got. There is AC which is great during the humid summer. Make sure they flip the switch downstairs as they turn it off the power to the AC in your room everytime you leave. There is breakfast which is included which consists of a pastry and a drink. The expresso was delicious. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I figured I would try it. Been craving it ever since. There is a nice patio out back to enjoy your drink. My room turned out to be two small twin sized beds, which was fine. Beds were so-so as far as comfort goes, but did the trick for one night as I was tired from the 20+ hours it takes to get from California to Milan. Staff was friendly and helpful. My stay was short, but would stay here again at the right price.

“Just okay, one star place”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

Single mother travelling with 20 yr old daughters. Place was just okay. Staff was pleasant and provided blankets because it was cold. Breakfast room was clean and breakfast just okay. It was probably a good 10 minute walk from the train station. Disappointed that you can not get into see Da Vinci's "Last Supper" unless you book 2 weeks in advance which doesn't cater to most tourists.

“Nothing too special but was good for us”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2010

We stayed here in June. We were looking for a cheap place to stay that was safe and near the train station. This place was both of them. The walk did seem far at first with my heavy backpack but it was no more than 15 minutes. The man who checked us in was friendly and even arranged on the spot a room with 3 beds since another friend decided to come last minute. The room was simple but had everything we needed. The shower was small and at one point the door fell off when my friend bumped into it but we fixed it. We had a small patio outside our room. Breakfast was simple but a good start to the day. Our room was mostly quiet but I could here people walking up and down the stairs. I would stay here again if I was on a budget.

“Excellent location - cheap and cheerful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2009

This small hotel wouldn't rate as one of the most glamorous hotels in the world, but then what do you expect for such a bargain rate? It's less than 10 minutes' easy walking from the Central Station, where you will probably arrive in Milan by train or coach from Malpensa airport, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is adequate, rooms (and beds) are comfortable, but the rooms overlooking Via Vitruvio can be noisy due to not only cars but trams. If possible, ask for a room on the other side of the hotel. Its other big advantage in terms of location is that it's about five minutes from Corso Buenos Aires (brilliant shopping), about 30 minutes' pleasant walk from the Duomo, and near metro stations if you don't want to walk or are going further afield.

“Milan on a budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2009

Our front street facing room was quite noisy as it was still warm enough to warrant the opening of the window. But for the price in Milan with access to the Central Train Station it really can't be beat. Do not expect anything fancy, it is clean and modest in typical European (not American standard) fashion. Don't exprect much in the breakfast department either. What's with the low level lighting in Italy?
