It was quite hard to find an accommodation with a decent price in Milan. This hotel cost 100€ per night for a double room including breakfast and it was the best deal I found. We were there during the Formula 1 Monza Grand Prix.
Ca' Grande is located a bit further off from the city centre but there's an underground stop called Loreto quite near. So it's not too much trouble to move around.
The hotel was kept very clean and there was a lovely small garden outside where you could sip your morning cappucino. Breakfast was somewhat Italian-style: croissants with apricot jam, sweet baked buns, espresso or cappucino. Yoghurt was to me the only "normal" breakfast item. Anyway I enjoyed the croissants even though I was hungry again right after having breakfast.
Beer and other drinks can be purchased from a fridge next to the reception with very affordable prices. There are no minibars in the rooms.
Hotel staff was very friendly and was also very helpful when asking advice about where to go in Milan. There isn't many restaurants nearby but one worth trying is Moby Dick with superb pizzas. Ask the reception for directions. Only a few bars and cafes can be found around the hotel so it's better to enjoy Milan's nighlife somewhere else. Although the prices in the city centre are outrageous. A pint cost 3 times as much in a beer garden right next to Duomo than it did in the neighbourhood near the hotel.
The rooms were very clean, althoug a bit gloomy. We had a room with private bathroom, otherwise the showers and toilets are in the hallway and have to be shared with other guests. Air-condition is a must due to the heat and thank god it worked perfectly in our room and was very quiet as well.
