“Deserves more stars!”

Very pleasantly surprised - fantastic price and immaculately clean, from the welcoming
reception, to our room, which was upstairs at the rear of the hotel, with a small balcony overlooking gardens. We left our balcony door open most of the time as it was very hot during our stay. The hotel itself was very quiet and extremely comfortable, and the only noise was one night during our four night stay, due to a party from a building across the gardens at the back. Aladin is run by a friendly Chinese family, with the only glitch being that our cheerful
host didn't speak much English, but can't really complain as our command of Italian left much to be desired! Our room was cleaned every day, with clean sheets, and soap and fresh towels provided in our en suite bathroom, which we didn't expect due to one star rating. Comfortable bed & TVin the room too. We were able to walkto the hotel from the central station after being dropped off by the shuttle bus from Malpensa, and found it well positioned, being able to walk around the city every day. I would highly recommend the Aladin - it is unbeatable value for money, and though modest accomodation it obviously runs by its own high standards, rather than a 'star' rating, but for service, cleanliness and comfort it definitely deserves more stars!!

“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2009

I've traveled to Milan together with my fiance and my 79 year old grandparents. I shortlisted over 10 hotels/hostels/apartments, inquiry for prices and so on. Finally, we chose Aladin mainly because of the reviews, price and positioning - an believe me, it was perfect! And not only for us, "the youngsters" (got used also to hiking/backpacking), but to my grandparents as well (they recently celebrated the 55th anniversary of their wedding, so this trip was kinda like a gift for them)
The staff is very friendly, open and willing to help on any matter.
The rooms (don't expect king-size on this money) are clean and functional equipped. The bed make-up was on daily basis (even if we stayed for 5 nights), same with the clean towels and overall room make-up - pleasant surprise for 1* hotel, compared to what other-Milan-1*-hotels-reviewers complained. Large bath, VERY clean!
I think there was no air conditioned (it was a giant device on one side of the closet, but I think it was a heating device or smth - we didn't have to use it as the other normal fan provided was more than enough), but we didn't need any.
The location is good-to-perfect, with direct access to subway - however, we strongly recommend buses, as traffic in Milan is very fluent and you have direct connections to the railway station (line 92, 10-15 minutes) and Duomo (line 54, 12-15 minutes).
Even if it doesn't offer breakfast, you have a small "universal" shop nearby and a good pizza place and other restaurants are just around the corner (half prices, compared to the center).

Perfect choice for the budget!

“Clean & Cheap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2009

My wife and I were inMilan for a weekend and stayed at the Al;adin Hotel. It is only 1 star but it was excellent. It is run by a Chinese family that are friendly and hospitable. The room and bathroom were clean but basic. No airconditioning but an upright fan was provided that frankly was better.
The position is good and the bus to the train stationis literaly at the door of the hotel.

For a basic and cheap hotel I highly recommend it. We were out of the room at 8:00 am and did not return till 11:00 pm so all we wanted was clean and cheap. Breakfast was not provided but there are cafes near by.

“Another great review”

Our room in The Aladin was small and compact, but well appointed. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but it was very clean. The staff cleaned every day, and everything is well maintained. The staff were very helpful with information regarding places to eat, grocery shop, post office, wash laundry, take trams... etc. The staff also provided very punctual wake-up calls. We found the service excellent and the cleanliness excellent. There were double doors from the room to a small balcony, and this provided the best system of air-conditioning. The hotel is within a five minute walk of the train, bus, and tram.
