“Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2010

This Hotel ist a very good choice for people who want to shop and experience the city.
The rooms are not to small and always clean. The receptionist always tried to help us as good as possible. The location was perfect. The shopping mile was 2 minutes away and also the subway was in foot distance, so that you are able to get to the dome in about 8 minutes.

This Hotel ist for a short city tour just perfect.

“Don't listen to moaning sad people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2009

I booked a short break to Milan for my husband's birthday, I choose the above hotel for it's locality and the look of the hotel, then I looked at the reviews on trip advisor and I felt really bad about choosing this hotel, but can I say that we had a fantastic stay and the staff were really helpful (especailly as I had forgotten my Ryanair booking pass which would have cost me more because I did not have this) and very informative, I think that people treat you as you treat them, it does not take brains to criticise it would be much better if everyone found something positive and nice to say about people rather than knocking people all the time. The only thing I can agree with was the air conditioning but as I live in the UK any form of increase in temperature makes me break out into a sweat mainly because I am not use to high tempaeratures but the room was very spacious and nicely equiped the breakfast was a typical continental breakfast as you would expect on the continent! If you want an english breakfast I would suggest that you stay at home.
It is sad that most people feel it more important to criticise rather than praise and this is exactly why I am putting this on trip advisor, it would have been easier not to have bothered but I felt it was only right that you should hear both sides of the reviews.

“Nice room, shame about the trams”

The hotel was better than I expected having read other reviews before I stayed there. Nice room, friendly staff, pleasant breakfast room, close to centrale and right by metro station.
Downsides: the 33 tram goes right by the window; and here seems to be a no shower curtain policy so the bathroom turns into a wetroom. Also lift only goes to 4th floor so avoid room on 5th if you don't like stairs.

“Stay someplace else”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2009

Just returned (2 days ago) from Milan where I stayed 5 nights at Demidoff Hotel. My advice - stay someplace else. The only good thing about this hotel is the location - very close to Lima metrostation. There are problems with heating. It is centralised and it is being switched on only for a couple of hours in the evening and in the morning. So take warm clothes with you if you plan to stay here. Also - DO NOT LEAVE ANY MONEY IN YOUR ROOM! I was foolish enough to leave an equivalent of about 50 Euros in Romanian currency in my unlocked suitcase and it disappeared! Unfortunately I did not realise it until back in Bucharest when I was to pay a taxi from the airport... It seems the breakfast has improved in comparison with what other travellers have written, but the heating problem and the theft of the money were more than I can accept. Once again - if you have other options - use them!

“In need of renovation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2008

Things didn`t start well when we were sent here from the Amadeus Hotel (same owner) which had over-booked. Checked-in to room 403 and found the room to be dated and had a strange smell. Turned out to be mould. Mould in the bathroom, mould in the bedroom under the window mould all over the place. The mould in the bathroom was because of a damaged whirlpool bath. Whenever you turned on the tap, the water shot out of the bath all over the wall, and window, and floor. The only way you could fill the bath was with the shower. The toiletbrush was broken, the bathroom phone had been smashed off the wall and was hanging on by a few wires. The bathroom light constantly flickered and the switch buzzed. The heater smelled because it was full of fluff/dust. The beds were sagging in the middle and the satellite tv gave only Italian channels. We moved to room 407 which was cleaner and not as mouldy. Worst thing about this hotel is breakfast. I know Italian hotel breakfasts are not much at the best of times, but this was awful. Firstly, no cereal, none at all, but there was milk. There was plenty of jam and marmalade, but no bread. No bread AT ALL. We asked for some only to be told it was all gone for today (this was at 09.20 - breakfast served till 10.00). Not that it mattered much as ALL the knives were dirty or in the dishwasher. No croissants either. Or fruit (save for 5 green apples). The Orange juice was very watery too. So the choice was.... Apple, Packaged cake, Orange colour water, Yoghurt, Packaged Biscuit and only 1 cup of tea/coffee. (second payable!). And nowhere to sit.... 5 storey hotel with 6 tables in the breakfast room. And the worlds least helpful and miserable waitress. In fact all the staff we met were pretty unhelpful (except one). The hotel wasn`t very clean either. The only positive i found is that the windows were very effective at blocking out the considerable noise outside. However, the walls are almost paper thin, and large gaps under the doors make for a noisy night.
Whilst it was not our case, I witnessed an argument between the receptionist and a guest who wanted to check-in. The problem being that the hotel insisted on a deposit before giving them the key.
Personally, i`d give this hotel a miss.
