the front desk of night shift (or he is probably the manager) is very rude...unbelievable !! they told us to leave our passport with them and take our passports away because the night shift front desk said that "everybody does this in Italy." Alright...this is not how it should go in anywhere else in the world and also your attitude. Since I insist to have my passport back right away, he was very mad and very impolite. He told me he could get the paper for our signature at that point and require everybody to leave the passport or ID with them until next morning. this is just very crazy for me. and his english is very wired. he would just murmur something in Italian in front of you with no eye contact.

the service and the cleanliness is just average...don't expect too much! regarding to the breakfast, you can ask them to make whatever coffer you want for you. but since the night shift guy is still mad at me, he didn't greet and just ignore me for the next two days. the room is not big the locatoin is not close to the city center and with no clear direction...

it could be an option for saving money but definitely will not recommend only if you don't have anywhere to stay.

They took cash for the saty and used the credit card twice at the end withoyut informing and in all charging 1500 euros instead of 500 for one week. Wanting to extend the stay for a day they doubled the room rate. No wifi though it was promised during the booking.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Lido thinking we had found a clean, nice and affordable hotel in Milan. What we did not expect, however, was the outrageously bad service that awaited us upon arrival. The manager pretended not to find our booking, and was rude, unhelpful and extremely unpleasant. I would strongly recommend potential guests to look for lodging elsewhere.

We booked this hotel in December 2009 for a 1 night stay at the end of February 2010 - Upon arrival at the hotel we were told very rudely that they had a problem and that we were now not booked into the hotel (but they wouldnt tell us the problem - I guess they had overbooked) They had booked alternative accomodation for us which was awful, the room was small, dirty, the breakfast was serrved in a musty smelling basement and was - which was in an area that was unconvenient to us, wrote the address of the alternative hotel. The man on reception was so rude, would not give any explanation why we had not been informed before our arrival that the room was not available to us. I have written to complain to our booking agent OCTOPUS TRAVEL - who after 5 weeks eventually came back with a reply after I threatened I would take the matter to ABTA - saying this Hotel Lido say that they put on Taxi transfer to alternative hotel, which was of a higher grade and they stood the cost of EUR80 which was the price they had to pay - THIS IS TOTALLY UNTRUE - WE DID NOT GET A TAXI NOR WERE WE OFFERED ONE - THE HOTEL WHERE WE STAYED DID NOT COST EUR 80 - ANOTHER LIE - THIS HOTEL NEEDS TO GET AND LOOK AT ITS STAFF, CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LEARN TO TELL THE TRUTH - I AM TAKING THIS MATTER FURTHER NOW
