We stayed at the Hotel Manzoni for three nights in mid-May. The hotel has an excellent location, right in the middle of Milan's justifiably famous fashion district, home to every imaginable high end fashion boutique in the world, along with many others which are unique to this city and Italy. The hotel if beautiful, with expansive marble used throughout, and the rooms are equally luxurious if a little small. Breakfast is excellent with hot dishes prepared to order, and an extensive buffet available. In every one of these respects, the hotel is excellent and we would stay here again. But then there is the attitude to which several reviewers have referred. The greeting at reception was tepid at best. A little animation would have been a nice touch. And SOME of the staff, including those in the dining room, seemed surly. But others were excellent: helpful, courteous, and genuinely interested in ensuring that guests had an enjoyable stay. For instance, when the waiter at dinner learned that it was my wife's birthday, complimentary champaign appeared unbidden. Now that's a positive attitude and worthy of a hotel of this rank. So don't let the attitude of SOME staff detract from the fact that this is a wonderfully located hotel, beautifully appointed, and staffed (mostly) by a friendly, capable staff.

Stayed in the classic room which has a lovely balcony overlooking the pretty side street. The rooms are excellent, extremely comfy bed, excellent Internet, shutters, mini bar. The hotel breakfast is excellent. With buffet and hot dishes made to order. The staff are extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. A real gem of a hotel. Walking distance to the shops and cathedral. La duomo, a must see.

We arrived at Hotel Manzoni after a long trip, with lots of luggage. We had searched for a well-located hotel Milan hotel. Hotel Manzoni looked appealing but I've found, especially with small boutique hotels, "small and charming" can be code for "cramped, tired and tiny". Mr. Castronuovo, the excellent and gracious mangager at Hotel Manzoni, was very attentive to my request for a room with enough space for all of our travel stuff. The hotel is quiet and charming - set among all the designer shops. Just window-shopping is amazing! Excellent breakfast! Staff was very helpful in getting last minute Last Supper tickets. I can't wait to return! Excellent hotel in delightful Milan. (didn't use the gym - it's small. But Milan is a great walking city!)

One of the best hotels in Milan if you prefer shop in- shop out. Situated In a quiet side street to the famous Via Montenapoleone (prada, Lv, hogen, d&g, dior, chanel etc) 3 min walk to subwaystation Montenapoleone witch connects to the whole city and sorrunding airports. 5-10 min walk to the touristcrowded Duomo square. Hotel interior is very sophisticated and luxurious with expanded use of marbel floors etc. Love it
