“Simply Charming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

Hotel Agape is a charming hotel right outside the city, around the corner from the subway station. Our room was more than adequate, with comfortable beds, ample closet and storage space, and a modern bathroom. The hotel staff was very friendly. They went out of their way to answer our questions and to make sure we had everything we needed. Service is top priority at Hotel Agape. Breakfast was a sumptious feast! Don't let the location of the hotel stop you from considering it. The neighborhood is very safe, as is the subway. In fact, the Milan subway system is one of the best subway systems I've been on.

“Not recommended for staying”

The furniture in the rooms is very old-fashioned, the wardrobe was totally broken. The personnel on the reception and breakfast ignore the English speakers. On breakfast the waiter didте want to come and offer the tea, so I needed to get up and come and ask him directly, because he was moving nearby without interest to us. We have booked the non-smoking room, cos I am pregnant, on the 2nd day of staying there was the strong smell of smoking in room. I suppose that somebody was smoking in one of the rooms on the floor, despate that the area is non-smoking. On my request to the receptionist, who was very unpolite to me, to check who is smoking, he said I will not do anything, thу hotel is overbooked, I cant move you, and I dont want to check who is smoking, he was not care about it. After the converstaion, he called and offered the room for extra price. So if you prefer the place for rest with the comfort and good service, please avoid this hotel.
Near the hotel no good places for the food (just Kebabs houses) and too much immigrants around.

“Not as good as expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

My wife and I had pretty high expectations for this hotel for these reviews. Unfortunately we were slightly disappointed.

Pros: close to the metro stop, large enough double room (for Europe), quiet street at night time, free wi-fi, breakfast included, openable windows, good enough daily cleaning, good minibar/fridge, working a/c and heating, 24h reception.

Cons: some of the personnel were not very service-oriented, unreliable services (bar), poor sound isolation (I could hear the neighbour snoring), ridiculously small shower cabinet and low water pressure, not much stores or reasonable restaurants nearby, slightly shabby overall appearance.

And once when we returned to hotel form the city, our room door wasn't locked! There wasn't anything missing, but still...

I don't think we would stay at this hotel next time.

“Good value for good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

The hotel is located few metres from a metro station. Then is takes 15 minutes to reach the city centre.

Rooms are clean and comfortable. On the other hand, the air-condition in the room is very loud.

The staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast are good.

“Good value & next to the train station to city centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

The hotel building facade did not look new, the lobby area also appeared dated, and the double room we got had old furniture and fittings. However, we were very impressed that this hotel property was so well-maintained and very clean. They have a very attentive house-keeping team whom we met along the corridor. They looked so cheerful and greeted us warmly. We met 4 reception staff at different timings - they were willing to help us with directions to get to Milan city centre, luggage storage after we checked out and directions to the Swiss border. The train station is just a few steps away from the hotel, and we could reach city centre in about 20-25 mins. Free parking was available along the street of the hotel.
