I booked the best value for money hotels via bookings.com. I booked in July for January 2012 and found good bargains inter alia Quality Atlantic hotel ( euro 90 not including breakfast extra euro 13, no cancellation allowed), New York (euro 100 with breakfast and option to cancel without penalty). They are busy working on the hotel with half the rooms completed with wooden floors and modern bathrooms. Our hotel tariff was a bit high due to AC Milan and Inter football match that was on that weekend.A great surprise for South Africans is the presence of the Hotel Mnger, Charl Fritz from Klerksdorp. He gave us a best room and many tips of places to visit and kept our luggage in storage until we travelled to Malpensa airport that evening. A great and popular hotel with OK breakfast but do not go too late (9am).

Decent hotel very close to the Milano Centrale train station. Room had a fair size, minibar, big screen TV and a good bathroom. Clean. Excellent breakfast and sympathetic and helpful people at the reception. Only negative point: pillows that are really too hard!

Rooms were clean, they were cleaned once a day with new fresh towels supplied daily. Breakfast had a big selection of foods, with eggs, bacon, different kinds of cheeses and hams, pastries, fresh juice, still and sparkling water, (great quality) coffee, etc. AMAZING location for people who plan on using train or subway. Hotel is also located in walking distance from Duomo (40-50min), Via Buenos Aires (20-30mins- this is the main shopping street) etc. Room could have been a bit bigger. Staff was helpful, resourceful & very friendly. They provided us with a map of Milan and made sure we know how to get to places. The only down side was they did not have free wi-fi in the building ( this was a minor flaw since we were not in Milan to sit in our room & surf the web, but to get to know Milan). GREAT OVERALL EXPERIENCE. I would go there again :)

My Wife and I arrived from the train station. The hotel is very convenient to the the train station and there is an express bus to the Malpensa Airport. We had to catch the 4:00 AM bus which is the earliest bus. Most difficult was finding the hotel from the train station. We had existed from the train station at Plaza Luigi di Savoia. We should have exited from Plaza Duca D'Costa. Even then it was not entirely obvious where the hotel was. From Plaza Duca D'Costa, the hotel was on the right, diagonally from the front of the train station. Once finally at the hotel the people were wonderful and gave us direction and maps. The room was quite nice and clean. You do seem to hear noise from people in the hall way and the next room. It was not too troubling. Breakfast was wonderful. It was buffet and in a nice lighted dining room. All the hotel personnel spoke English. We did have a problem with the air conditioner, it was too cold. Found out that if you turn the knob past freezing it shuts off. For our morning trip, unfortunately personnel did not give us a wake up call, but our alarms worked. We took the long wall around the station to our bus, as we had luggage and did not want to be a target in front of the train station. There was a mild altercation going on, but thought it was best to avoid. Still if felt safe considering how close we were to the train station. Bus was easy and there were already a group of people lining up. Hotel is convenient to major subway lines to take us to the major sights, La Scala, the Duomo. Subway station felt very safe.
