“Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

This was definitely a good hotel for the price you pay. You get a great location, very close to both Duomo and Parco Sempione and the castle. I had a single room with the balcony out to the silent street Rovello, which was great! The breakfast was very limited, BUT you can have a freshly made coffee/latte/cappuccino, which I liked a lot. The staff are not the most service minded people, but not too bad. I recommend this hotel for short stays and if you travel alone.

“Mozzie Killers - beware!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

It's a budget hotel in a five star location...literally yards from the Duomo (about the only attraction in Milan!)
Rooms are airless and old. bathroom effective but basic. Aircon wholly ineffective.
We got bitten to death by mozzies in one of the outside restaurants - cover yourselves up and spray...

“Great location, unfriendly staff, small rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2010

Very well sited: right in the centre, near the main tourist sights; 1 minute from top-end pedestrian shopping, 5 minutes from the castle, 10 minutes from Malpensa Airport Express station.

Stuff unfriendly and unhelpful at times (depending on who is at the reception desk).

Smallest shower facility and smallest elevator I have ever seen. Internet only worked for 1 hour at a time. Had to get a new code at the reception after every 1 hour, which is very frustrating.

Clean, but the rooms are small and not too welcoming. The hotel does not meet modern standards; the breakfast is basic; luggage had to be left in the reception area, which was not always staffed. All of this was reflected in the price which was certainly low for somewhere in this location. Good if you are staying on a budget.

“Good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2010

This hotel is a perfectly adequate basic 3 star. It is clean and warm (perhaps too warm) with friendly helpful staff and an excellent location. The breakfast is basic but the rolls and croissants are freshly baked. The rooms are tiny but some of the previous grumblers should realise that you get what you pay for!

“Claustrophobic nightmare that is not even worthy of 2 stars”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2009

This was our final stop after visiting Bergamo and Como in a week long break. Our first two hotels were 4 star and beyond compare with this miserable excuse for a hotel.
We found some of the staff friendly and helpful but they could never make up for the sheer cramped, dingy , tatty and unpleasant interior of the room and lounge area.
The lift/elevator was a safety hazard. My colleagues had to change their room owing to the size of the bathroom. We were not so fortunate. I have never spent time at a hotel that I wanted to be out of as soon as possible. Breakfast was in a dull area with just four tables that seated two people. The organisation which vets hotels in Milan need to pay some attention to standards. Calling it a three star insults the intelligence of people and is unfair to those who run two star establishments - - indeed they surely could not be worse!
