It is cheaper and cleaner to sleep on the streets than to sleep in Hotel Teco. This should not be considered a 3 star hotel, I would even hesitate to give them a 1 star. We found this hotel recommended by one of the travel books and decided to stay here. It was the worst mistake of our lives. The hotel is not in the best area, there were car windows broken on the street of the hotel. The rooms bed linens and curtains were disgusting and dirty. They looked as though they have never been washed. It was overly priced, we had a quadruple room with private bath and breakfast for 135 Euros. Before going to bed, we were joking that we would have roaches in our room, well at 2 am, I woke up with a roach crawling on my face. We spent 5 hours trying to get our second night canceled, which we finally succeeded in and stayed at the Best Western Hotel City (ABSOLUTELY AMAZING) for the same price.

If you're looking for somewhere to put your head down at night, that's very close to the metro line and is surrounded by nice shops and little cafe's that serve decent tapas with your drinks, this is the place for you.

If you're planning to spend anytime in your hotel room, or get nervous when the power goes off and there is no emergency lighting in the small lift or stairwell and corridors, then this isn't the hotel for you.

We paid 90 euro a night after being bumped here because of overbooking at our original hotel. Apparently that's a good rate but 3 stars is probably pushing it.

The manager was quite rude on our arrival and didn't improve over our stay. The hotel is very old fashioned decor wise. It's lift can only accomodate one person with luggage at a time! Our quadruple room was very tight, 3 beds on top of one another, one was a fold up. The fourth was a settee! The bathroom was fine. The noise of traffic from the street below, the Corso Buones Aires, was very noisy indeed, with a fair amount of police and ambulance sirens going by. We found it very hard to find the hotel with the directions we were given on booking. Think our nightcaps were watered down too! Wouldn't go back in a hurry.

Hotel Teco does not deserve the 3 star accommodation rating it supposedly has. Our room overlooked a main very busy street and as the windows were not double glazed, we could hear traffic all night. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom. The manager said it had been sent away for cleaning and didn't give us another one. We were there for 3 nights and thought this was very poor. The airconditioner flooded the carpet. This hotel was depressing, noisy and the staff generally unhelpful and disinterested. Free parking out in front and a strip club diagonally opposite.
