This hotel may be conveniently located but look for another!
The rooms are hot, noisy and cramped and the staff is cranky. They would not let us use the air conditioner or give us a fan. It was miserable.

This hotel is in a very convenient location right next to Milan's central train station. In fact there is a subway exit a few metres from the hotel. The hotel staff are quite professional and helpful. I was a little annoyed however at their attempt to haggle over what the additional cost of a cot would be. It was as if he was trying to see how much I'd be willing to pay. At the end I paid 20 EUR for the cot. It would be better if these costs were disclosed upfront on their website and stated clearly at the front desk. The rooms were reasonably sized, clean and had everything you'd expect of a good 3 star hotel. The Italian restaurant across the road is definitely worth a visit. I'd certainly consider staying here again, but would agree on the additional costs upfront.

I stayed here with two good friends for the Monza F1 Grand Prix in September 09. The hotel is only a few yards from the Central station and has plenty good cafes and bars around to be a good base for a great weekend in Milan.

The rooms are clean and the staff friendly, and as previous posts have said, for such an expensive city this is hotel is good value for money.

Considering that Milan is definitely not a cheap destination, I was very happy to have stayed at the Augustus and have paid a reasonable price per night. The staff was professional and friendly, my room was super clean, modern, not very roomy but very functional. Steps away from the metro, many cafés and restaurants in the area too so no need to reserve the breakfast buffet (expensive) at the hotel. Would definitely return.
