“Clean, Comfortable and Convienient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2011

I stayed here for one night. The staff were friendly at times and perhaps a little odd at other times. They were helpful and let my family store their baggage in my single room for the day as they were flying out the day before me.
My single room which was 90 euro (more than I had paid for triple rooms in Venice and Florence) was actualy a twin room and was tastefully decorated, spacious and had a lovely full size bath. The room was very clean and had a comfortable bed. The only downside I experienced was that I could hear noise from either the train station or the subway. I am a light sleeper and once I put my ear plugs in this wasn't a problem. If I were to visit again and not have plugs I would request a room at the back of the hotel as my room was facing the road (the train station). The hotel has wifi available at a crazy price so I went without.

I walked into the city centre and it was an easy 30 minute walk. The train station is 5 minutes on foot and the subway is also located there and takes you easily to the city centre.

Breakfast was no better than I had experienced in much cheaper hotels but it was good and did the purpose. I have to admit with other reviews that the breakfast room was small and I would hate to try and eat when the hotel is full.

It´s a very nice hotel in a great location, near the main train and metro station in Milan. The staf is helpful, breakfast is good. No complains or setbacks at all.

“Good Hotel in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2010

We stayed for 2 nights in The Hotel Auriga. It is very well located just 3 minutes walk from the train/metro station which makes it very convenient for getting to different parts of the city. The room was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom, where we actually had a bath and a shower! The breakfast is excellent, juices, yoghurts, cold meats, cheeses, bread rolls, croissants, cereals, boiled eggs etc. We did find one of the gentlemen on reception a little surly - a smile wouldn't go amiss - though he did recommend an excellent restaurant round the corner. If we were going back to Milan we would stay here again.

“Good for transfers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2010

Pros
The hotel decour is old but clean. It was probably a fantatsic hotel 40years ago.
Its great if you are transfering to another part of Italy as its a minute walk away from the central station. The breakfast was really good and there are two waitness looking after your needs.

Cons
The reception staff were ignorant when we arrived and didnt change their attitude even when they over charged for the room, they didnt even offer an apology. The wi-fi was crazy expensive.

“Great location for Central Station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2009

The reception is very friendly and helpful with info and recommendations on where to eat etc (they were on the money there too) and very accommodating when I had trouble sorting out a cancelled flight issue. Breakfast was good but often the cafe was full and you needed to wait for a table to become available. The rooms are very nice with openable windows for fresh air. The bed however was quite hard as was the pillow and by my 4th night it became quite uncomfortable. The location is very close to the Central Train Station (which is also where the airport shuttles run to and from) and from the plaza in front of the station you can easily see the sign for the hotel. Theres also a metro station there. And its a short walk to Corso Buenos Aires (for affordable shopping) and a long walk or 2 - 3 metro stops to the Duomo and the Designer stores as well as bars and restaurants. All up tho a very enjoyable stay.
