This is not a bad hotel, just a disappointing one. It is in a great position, a couple of minutes from the Cathedral and La Scala. The bright refurbished lobby is the best bit perhaps, but as you take the lift up to the rooms the hotel becomes increasingly shabby. The rooms are very old fashioned are rather functional and there are some mean touches - a poorly stocked minibar, cheap toiletries, clunky and expensive internet access. The reception service is fairly neutral, certainly not particularly welcoming.

Good points were the bar and the restaurant. The bartender is helpful and well informed and served us some interesting Italian wines by the glass. The restaurant is expensive for what it is but the food is not bad from a very limited choice menu. The staff here actually looked pleased to see you and keen to help.

Overall there are much better places in terms of quality and value, even right in the centre of town. This place is an ok last choice is everything else is booked (which it often seems to be in Milan!)

I paid EUR220 for a medium grade room.

We have stayed at this hotel many times as it is in a great position and near all our appointments,
but have complained often about the state of the rooms .This we can put up with ,but the rude staff is something else ,but our trip this week when we walked out will be the last .The last time we complained ,the Manager took the receptionist of the desk as it was not the first time a complaint had been made .
This time when we asked to move from the room we were given we were told there was no other so at 350 euro we decided enough was enough and left never again.

We stayed in this hotel in November 2011. It was part of an organised tour.

The place is a little tired and might benefit from a revamp. The location, however, is second to none. Breakfast is good and the rooms are OK. The curtain fell down in our room but was fixed in minutes. Never found out how the heating worked! Room was cleaned well.

Friendly staff but not a lot of English or French spoken. I paid a half day for a late check out at 6.00 pm - which was a bit steep. Especially when the twice locked me out! Paying for Wifi is a bit unnecessary as well.

Good for a short stay.

Had stayed a week at the hotel. A decent hotel, nothing bad, nothing great. It was decent sized room for Europe. Staff at the front desk was helpful. Best thing is the location, two steps away from the Duomo, the Galleria, and the metro station. Luini next door is worth the queue for their panzerotti. Good ice cream as well from the ice cream shop opposite Luini. 10 minute away from the supermarket (Billa). easy to get to lake como from the hotel - take the metro 3 stops to Cadorna, and then the train to Como Lago Nord (approx 4-6 EUR).

If flying in to Linate airport, its only a EUR20 cab ride to the hotel.
