Hi, Folks !!
If you are frequenting the business park park behind the hotel and have no interest in trying Milanese cuisine/culture, this hotel will please you....the hotel is a 3-minute walk from this hotel...Otherwise, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL !!!!!
This hotel is far from the metro stops. You need to take a bus or a taxi to the nearest metro stop. It is also far, far away from restaurants, which is a shame. The taxi ride to the Duomo or Navigli is about 20 Euroes.
One of the greatest pleasures of Milan is to go to a bar/restaurant, before 9 PM, and enjoy drinks...and their free tapas-like bar; this is a wonderful custom. But there are no restaurants within walking distance of this hotel...unless you're a marathon runner. :)
If you are a business traveler, these are the advantages of this hotel:
1. fast laundry service
2. large rooms (even larger than many of the hotel rooms in NYC)
3. large bathroom (not the typical, tiny bathrooms)
4. HDTV
5. Clean
6. Great breakfast buffet
7. Business center
Disadvantages:
1. If you want to go somewhere after 9 PM, there are no nearby taxis. Buses only run every 15 minutes until midnight. You must stand outside the hotel grounds to catch a bus or a taxi. Not a problem on a beautiful spring day...but not suggested when it's raining/lightning or a hot, summer day.
If you are a shopper, recommend the Hotel Fenice on Corse Buenos Aires. The metro is less than a hundred feet from the hotel. The breakfast is a traditional European breakfast, which is quite filling. It is near a telephone shop where you can easily obtain a cell phone or a SIM card...stores that are cheaper than the ones around the Duomo, and restaurants. The Hotel Fenice is also on the same block as UNES, a shopping market. If you're like us and want snacks or sandwiches before you sleep, you can easily buy yummy things at this grocery store.
